What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from L.A. where there is bright sunshine but a biting chill. I had my first shingles jab earlier so most of the day's excitement is done but we still have a grocery delivery to come. What japes chums. @dunelm I hope you solve the bed issue and thank you for sharing the artwork which, probably due to the mention of organising funerals, made Pork Chop Hill march into my sad old mind. @gennepher thank you for sharing the video and kaleidoscope, coffin shapes-n-all.. @Krystyna23040 the sunrise sounds delightful and a day reading and drinking coffee sounds relaxing. Oh no, I've said too much, I haven't said enough. I'm scanning the sports news to see if Ange has been sacked yet. Enjoy your Monday,
For some reason @ianpspurs , you often seem to see coffins with this particular kaleidoscope App..... I like the architectural sculpture of the coffin shapes, some coffins with this app look like Art Deco to me but I might be delusional... it is a mirror by the way and these are the reflections in it.... and I am facing it...and no, I do not have any coffins in my front room.... so I wonder where I am...

I'll take some more of this mirror to see if I can shift the perception of it, I can turn the phone camera to get different angles from the same viewpoint, and I have a tendency to stop where I think it reaches some slight deco qualities....

Good late afternoon all.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.2

Mrs J and myself went into deepest darkest Mordor yesterday see our newest grandson. Mrs J was in her element, full in cuddle mode, the delightful little chap loved all the attention. This was the first time we had all seen each other apart from video calls. We left Mordor late to miss the traffic and thankfully avoided the orcs gathering on the A406.

As a special reward for behaving myself Mrs J took me shopping after my weekly, it seems blood test, then deposited me, me’s and myself in the instore costa koffy shop.

Yes dear…….just finish this post….

I started all this family history stuff about 25 years ago trying to find my cousin, with whom we had lost contact. Today I got a message from her son on the Ancestry website with his mother's telephone number. So I phoned and, at last, I'm back in contact with her! Wonderful. I couldn't be happier.

8.7 at 0350 this morning. Jumped to 10.9 on the strength of a cup of tea, but calmed down a bit when I took some insulin and had some breakfast. A jolly time was had by all this afternoon, especially the children but it was very tiring. Nothing I could risk eating there, so just had the anticipated cup of tea. Just as well I had a breakfast. Time to think about a meal of some kind this evening and another cup of tea. No, a cup of coffee. A celebratory one.

Wonderful result with the Ancestry website getting you and your cousins back together.

That is wonderful news @Annb .
It must have been so lovely to speak to her after all this time.

Good morning everyone from yet another light and sound start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. The garden was bathed in a red glow at 0730 as the sun's rays passed through the thick atmosphere, scattering shorter wavelengths of light like blue and purple accompanied by the Ghost of Phil Spector and his wall of sound whistling round the chimney pots and the imperceptible sounds of Be My Baby. Last day of the year and I ought to take gas and electricity readings and send off to the supplier. I will. I shall. Lunch out I think. Will Jools Holland have interesting guests on? And then, another turn round the sun. Art bit - why, a bridge! All the very best for 2025 although I don’t actually know what. Perhaps all the very best care for yourself and your families. This excellent Monsoon Malabar that I received as a Christmas gift is rather nice. Have a wonderful day if you decide to.

Creative...A different view of my front room in the Laboscope Kaleidoscope app.

It was an amazing sunset last night, and also an amazing sunrise this morning. But alas now it is a dull cloudy windy day....

Time for a nap, I think....

Have your best kind of day....
