What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

We now have a lovely little yellow labrador puppy who our granddaughters have named Bonnie.

She has explored the whole house and garden and I think she has decided that she approves of her new home
Hello bonnie.

We're your new pawrents friends

Just Know you're going to be SO loved.

They loved Archie & poppy.SO much.

And those two had such lovely times & left us all with such lovely memories.

But it's your time now, little girl

They doesn't mean they love them any less, but in a world where there doesn't seem enough love to go around

It makes sense that those who can offer love & a good life for others, should do so whenever possible.

Looking forward to seeing your pics & hearing all about your great adventures.

Love JJ, Lauren & Frankie ...& Marley .

Very wise of the beasties to stay in their dens during this really cold weather.

I wonder if the weather has anything to do with the empty shelves jn the shop. Very annoying that the chilled cabinets were full of soft drinks and ready meals.

Hope your tummy ache is OK now.

Love the kaleidoscope
Thanks @Krystyna23040
Tummy ache is still settling. I think in part it was caused by all those soft drinks in the chiller cabinets instead of proper food. And I was thinking it wasn't even this bad when we had the panic buying at the beginning of Covid.

Surely Lidl will have something in fresh veg, although supplies were poor in selection and choice early last week...

Thank you for the Kaleidoscope compliment....

Hi Bonnie!!!
Lots of cuddles and tummy tickles from here...
She sounds beautiful @Krystyna23040

Morrison's here as well.

I need eggs as well, last two went with the succulent gamon!
Nom, nom, nom! Ha!
I kept quail for about 10 years, until the last one died of old age 10 years ago. They were prolific layers. I used to take them out of the cage (one by one, individually), and give them some cuddle time every day. It felt like they were purring. I invariably had at least one cat either side of me with an eye for the main chance if I let go of the quail. The cats did know it was more than their life was worth if they took that chance, and so did not dare.... but I don't think any quail outside even in a very well protected cage would last long against the beasties that visit my garden now. In icy freezing weather, I did bring the quail indoors and they were in a cat travel basket each, in bad icy weather conditions.

It would be too much hard work now, wouldn't it?

I am having a lovely cuppa tea at the moment... Marigold herbal tea. I love my new Chinese vacuum flask. It has a tea strainer at the top so you can put loose leaf tea in.. I have ordered two more smaller ones. They have a lip and so can be used as a drinking bottle as well, for cold liquids, obviously...

Now all I need is to feel sleepy again and fall asleep....

Sweet dreams...

Sleep is elusive tonight...

Midnight wanted to go outside. It was 2:30 am. The catflap is normally blocked for the night, so I thought might as well go out as well, so made myself some eggy sourdough bread (I have some frozen sourdough bread for when I feel like this in the middle of the night), and a mug of tea and Midnight and I watched the moon while it played hide & seek with the clouds ..... I have no idea if any sounds are in the night because my ear is sitting by the side of my bed... so to all my intents and purposes it is a silent peaceful night....

Thank you for those truly wonderful words @jjraak

How was the stroll along the prom, prom, prom? I assume there was no tiddly-om-pom-pom. There's a conspiracy to gaslight me about gammon, melt in the mouth is definitely an alternative truth.
Oh the prom, the prom - new meaning of the word “control” and the stabilisers worked hard. Unfortunately promenading on a cold Sunday morning is not as glamorous as it was in the 1900’s.

Good morning everyone on a late start for me here in the dark and dangerous north. A night of quite painful cramps in arms, legs and pains in ribs - I thought that I was in a remake of that dance marathon film ‘They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?’ Calf muscles quite painful this morning. A reminder of just what is under my direct control - just my mind. Simple, just one thing to manage, my choices, my will, my mind. So, nothing to be done but choose to get out and walk it off. Temperature is now 5 degrees so it will be relatively tropical. Art bit, a cold morning walk. Is your day going well? Hope it is - I am now going to make a late koffy.

Just thought I would share this link in case anyone had not seen it.

My pal who comes over from LA to see us each year tells me that they are still OK as long as the wind doesn’t change direction. Power has been cut so they are on a generator. They moved from Palisades a couple of years ago which has turned out to have been a good move as the house that they lived in no longer stands.

Morning from an almost Spring like start to Monday in this bizarre area of The Brecks. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art which strikes me to be very similar to the setting for the very moving gathering @JohnEGreen shared. I guess the walkers can be taken as a sign of hope or defiance. Hug for the cramps: are they related to the stroll along the prom and helping your granddaughter yesterday? . @Krystyna23040 wonderful news on Bonnie who will both give and receive so much love and joy which is just as it should be. She has definitely won the puppy lottery. JKP was awoken by a phone call from the milk delivery people offering very large "free range" (hens) eggs delivered to our doorstep, appreciably cheaper than we currently pay. @gennepher they were some pampered quails as one would expect and yes absolutely too much work now. JKP still hankers after hens again but as wonderful as the eggs were life moves on apace while one isn't looking. The vegetable availability issue could worsen according to this. For those seeking the elusive "fresh" food today best wishes for success. Let's all run Monday up the flagpole and see who salutes.

There are times I thank God that we moved away from Wigan when we did one of those moment was last night when we learned that one of the group of six lads that Keiran was friends with there had died struck by a lorry on the M6 yesterday he is the third of that group to have died since we left non by natural causes which causes me reflect on the fact that in certain areas the youth have been failed by society where the have no opportunity and little hope of a bright future not a lot has changed there since George Orwell wrote The Road To Wigan Pier.

Art bit is somehow rather poignant @dunelm can't explain why...
