After my op they gave me a letter for my optician when I gave the letter to my optician in went in the waste bin and he said te clinic expects us to do this but there is no contract and we do not do it as we don’t get any payment if the clinic wants a follow up they should do it themselves those are his words almost verbatim.

Tiring day. Ended up having to wait around 2 hours for my prescription. It had not been made up. I went back twice. I did a bit of shopping but I didn't have my list with me so I got stuff. I didn't need but forgot the stuff I did need because I wasn't expecting to shop today.

I drew some people again... on my phone with my finger... so that's my creative for today. I ended up having to draw the pram from memory because she charged across the road.

Nighttime wildlife video. Under 60 seconds but took nearly 2 hours to load tonight so it's really wasted my time.... some days it doesn't quickly some days it does not, no rhyme or reason.
Badger Willow rocks the swing and catMerlin stares at him. Then Finn the Fox looks at Merlin.
Merlin does not get any sleep in the night with all the activity by Badger Willow and Finn the Fox.
This video is sped up a little because there was so much activity...

I spent the afternoon napping because I was so tired when I got home and I haven't done a lot today so I'm bit annoyed with myself....

I have a letter, a similar letter as well @JohnEGreen
It really is not good enough.
I am finding this stressful so far. Just trying to contact the opticians and they seem to be completely ignoring me.
I don't see any point in driving up there a nearly 80 mile round trip, it looks as though my experience would be like yours if I tried that, so I'm not wasting my time and my money. I don't feel up to a long journey at the moment for nothing.

It looks like from the information I have found so far, that the onus is on you if you cannot get the service from the optician... you have to challenge the optician if he doesn't give the service that the Hospital expect the optician to give. But I cannot even contact the optician despite using their 'contact us' box on their website. I don't feel that is quite right at all.

If, this situation is a lot more common than people realise, something seriously needs to be done about it. I will go as far as I can with it, but it's taking time and energy from me.

However, the opticians do get paid for various NHS work. They do take on NHS work.

If no contact is made by Monday I have reviews worked out about the situation which I will post online.

Then I will go back to PACT and the Royal and tell them, and see what their response is...

I do have some further ideas.

EDIT: it's only just occurred to me, I should have thought before, when I wrote this post reply to yours. The optician you went to had no right to screw up your hospital letter explaining about the cataract and throw it in his waste paper bin. That was unforgivable, a disempowering technique in my eyes...and all your important hospital details, and numbers etc, and info about the operation - well there is a lot of info on my piece of paper for the optician's that appears to be like yours. It is my only proof of the cataract operation and important details on it.
Note to me, never take an original document anywhere. Always take a photocopy. I wouldn't have thought so to do that in this instance, but I do now. I am sorry they did that to you...

Morning all

Day 5 of our " unfinished business " tour.

It's taken longer to settle in than expected,
But I think we are finally there.

Many changes here since last visit & also changes to how we travel all to be adjusted to.

First day of holi festival so many indians a little tipsy, and all of us have at least one part of us covered in the traditional colouring of holi.

Not been so hungry, a mix of an increase in my meds and the inevitable clash of cultures, heat & jet lag I suspect.

However we're not starving ourselves by any means

on way out last night, I was struck again by how accepting this society is of things we'd find outrageous in ours .

Anyone ever seen a cow begging for food ?
Me neither, until now....lol.

India educational as well as eye opening.

Is very good at giving many options. And when our upstairs bay window needed repairing, we had plenty to surmise and pick the best choice for us.

On the subject of blinds - I am banned from opening and closing the blinds in our house since I once strongly pulled the cord for opening one of the the blinds instead of the one for closing them and really messed up the mechanism..

That's one way of getting out of doing a job. Prove you are totally incompetent.

Grandparents nowadays seem to be required in order for both parents to work. A rash or a sneeze as a child meant that mum shoved us all into the same bed in order to get it all over and done with (cue lines from a Monty Python sketch).
Two boxes for the local Rotary Club collected and two more empty boxes issued. Seems that as we did boxes for 5-9 year olds, Mrs Miggins thinks that we should do similar for teens - OK then, challenge on.
Art bit - well that’s a mess - add some trees.
Just read a passage from Epictetus which says, “It is impossible for a person to begin to learn what he thinks he already knows.” - best send a note to Donald!
Hope your day is a pleasant one. I shall make koffy and await the arrival of The Girl In The Bubble.

Your mum had some interesting child rearing techniques... I would never thought of that one but it makes sense...

I ordered an online copy of the will of one of my ancestors from 1722 and it arrived in my inbox today. Transcribing it into readable text at present but I have come across a problem. Page 1 is fine and I can read it quite easily, other than one or two words which I have left blank for now, but the 2nd page is upside down and so, quite unreadable. The format doesn't allow for the image to be worked on and trying to insert the file into a graphics package only inserts that first page. Have to get Neil onto it when he surfaces again.

Estimated blood glucose 14.0 this morning from looking back at the days graph. Didn't manage to get a snapshot. Not my best work.
Did manage to swim today, though when I say swim I mean paddle round a bit, some kicking, and 2 lots of hip physio in the pool for change of scenery. Didn't get to the salad shop, will save as a treat for next week. Did manage to get the roast dinner. Swapped the roast potatoes for extra broccoli with cheese sauce. Unfortunately had chocolate for pudding.

Planning a big day for Tuesday. Driving 4 hours to get MRI, then will eat, then drive home 4 hours again. Also can't eat or drink 4 hours beforehand.
I may take a strategic nap on the way home if I need it - there are a few good spots. Have to take a spare CGM with me as they will want it out for the scan, and will be useful for the drive home etc.
Will probably need to sleep the rest of the week, but it's good to get it done.
Then the GP on the Wednesday to discuss the liver.

Feeling a bit more positive after the complimentary post swim brain chemicals kicked in.
Will try again for tomorrow.

Good afternoon everyone. Had my two biopsies done the day before yesterday with 3 stitches in both. Yesterday I went for my overdue HbA1c blood test then visited my cousin in hospital as she had fallen and broken her hip. The long walk to/ from and around the hospital made my foot wound bleed so spent the rest of the day in my recliner with my foot raised on a pillow! I am now waiting to hear from the consultant about the surgery to remove my large kidney stone. Isn't life fun? LOL I am torn between needing a break after all the procedures and discomfort I have been through recently and wanting it to be done in time for me to recover before our Golden Wedding mini break away on April 4th/ 5th. I just feel exhausted! Sorry no fbs this morning. I forgot! I expect it would have been raised anyway, especially as I ate hospital food for lunch yesterday! Sorry to go on so long. I'll try and post something more positive next time. My best wishes to you all and thanks for "listening".

As usual, Neil fixed it. It was a complicated manoeuvre working between different software packages, but he did it and joined up the 2 sections seamlessly. Only one word I can't get now - appears twice - but the rest is clear. Unfortunately he didn't name anyone other than his "beloved wife, Mary" and his son George. He didn't write the will himself because he could only make his mark at the bottom. Discovered a couple of bits of information about 18th century contractions and letter forms that we weren't aware of, so it has been a learning process for both of us.

BG at 04.00 was 9.5. Not good but I know why. Trying not to repeat that mistake.

DIL has been having chest pains but did manage to get a GP appointment (How? I ask myself. I never can). It may be angina but she'll have an ECG tomorrow to check on the state of her heart. May be the result of stress, she's not so laid back as me.

I'm sitting in the warm side of the window.

Here's a picture of some of my daffodils (out of reach of the new badgers...I hope) for my creative and made into a Kaleidoscope with Laboscope...

But something is digging up my wild garlic and eating the bulbs...my new badgers ?
