What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning all. My fbs this morning was 9.0. Not too bad considering we went for a celebratory meal early last evening. Hardly any carbs but I ate ice-cream! :angelic: Nothing else to eat before my pre -breakfast test at 8.20 am. Another medical appointment this afternoon and a hospital follow up Urology phone appointment tomorrow then hopefully free for the rest of this week? Should be going for my group walk this morning but the biopsy site on my foot is still too sore! Best wishes for today. :)

11.6 at 04.00 today. High last night as well despite taking a largish dose of insulin before a pretty limited meal at 18.00, so I took a correction dose of 15 units Humalog before bed. According to my Libre, BG continued to rise to about 16 and then started to fall to 11.6. Took basal insulin at that point and it is currently 11.2, after 2 cups of coffee. Breakfast soon but I'm not sure what I can risk. I'm pretty hungry though, so will have to be very careful. Trying to fill a bit of space with coffee. It must be because of the reduced Metformin, I think.

Grace and Mercy be with you all this day and always. Another mild day here in L.A. which is fine for me but some struggle in the warm weather and high pollen so thoughts with you. JKP is still abed but vital signs are improving. I am managing to feed and water man, women and dogs so all good. I am learning how to operate various domestic machines, some are newish. I discovered the attached which I never knew existed nor (we) . needed. Enjoy your day or at least stay out of the sun and pollen. @gennepher thank you for the wonderful kaleidoscope yesterday despite the effects of heat and hay fever.

Neil has been working on the garden, in fits and starts, but it is mostly cutting back overgrown bushes. We tried to establish a wild garden for the sake of wildlife - that was many years ago now, when my enthusiastic gardener husband was able to do the work. Now the wild has taken over and those plants that have thrived are very strong growers and very hardy. I planted some buddleia (got Neil to do the work) last year and none have survived, it seems. However, I will leave them for another year and see if any of them recovers. Willows (other than the Kilmarnock variety) do very well, as do Ash and Mountain Ash and Sycamore. Grass, of course and montbretia fill in spaces wherever they can get a foothold. I'll try again with the buddleia if the planted ones don't survive. The dwarf willow outside the kitchen window attracts hundreds of bumble bees and is a joy to behold. But I despair of getting it all under control (remote control, that is since I can't actually do the work myself and I have to admit, it isn't Neil's priority).

6.8 this morning.

Had a cancelled 1:1 as the client's bee hives were being invaded by swarms of bees and she worried that her bees might pick up diseases from those bees.

So I had time to walk to the local shops to pick up some stuff I needed. I don't often get the chance to do that - so that was great.

It is really good not being overloaded with work. Have now finished my last 1:1 and I am off across the road for a lovely meal.

Thank you very much, Ian for the kaleidoscope compliment... I have come to the conclusion there is only one way to be and that is to take it easy all the time....

The promised thunderstorm today did not arrive...still too hot...

My clematis has suddenly taken off, and is growing like a canopy cover over much of my garden.
I took a kaleidoscope of it, here it is.

Trying to do a video, but connection is slow. This is part one., part two will have be tomorrow night, now.

Wildlife trail camera
Badgers Willow & Thor, Cat Merlin, & Fox Finn, Part 1. The rest of the same night in Part 2 If you note, you will see both Cat Merlin and Finn the Fox on the ground at the same time.

Thank you for the video and this amazing kaleidoscope. Hopefully the heat will go later in the week, it will here anyhow.

Good morning all. My fbs today was 11.1. Not good but GP agreed at yesterday's appointment that leaving off my Dapagliflozin until my next HbA1c was a good idea. I had a text early this morning cancelling today's phone appointment from Urology so I have a free afternoon to go wherever my sore foot will allow me to. Hoping that an appointment with Dermatology will come soon. It will be 9 weeks tomorrow since my biopsies. My best wishes to you all for today. :)

Good morning everyone on a splendidly quiet and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous North.
5.8 this a.m.
Stuff getting in the way lately. Well, pushing things down the list.
Batch cooking with The Girl In The Bubble after Mrs Miggins collected her from school. Five portions each of bolognaise sauce and chicken with rice - her go to meals. Her dad did approving taste tests when he picked her up to go home - what a fuss pop she is and only 5 years old. After, she “taught” me her latest game; rock, paper, scissors. I played dumb and amazed - difficult multi tasking facial expressions. Then welly boots on to help Mrs Miggins water the gardens.
No idea yet for today. The washing is on the line and I need to visit the post office. But apart from that.
Art bit - spilled some ink and it went from there - a doodle.
Hope your day goes well. You only get one shot at it so hope you fully inhabit it. Now where is that koffy.
