What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

9.2 at 02.00 today. Went to bed at 23.45 last night. 11/4 hours - better than nothing. A couple more hours in the chair. Still at 9.5. Just had insulin and breakfast, so we'll see how it goes.

Leg day today - had to take the bandages off at lunchtime yesterday so that the podiatrist at the hospital could check pulses, nerves etc. It's very odd. She told me the results of a test in January, specifically the result of a test using a tool that vibrates against the end of the big toe. It had deteriorated since January, now making my risk of foot problems moderate. The odd thing is, I have absolutely no memory of seeing the podiatrist, or having an appointment in that department since the Covid lockdown and I am positive that I have never seen, or experienced, the tool that she used. Plus, I have been at moderate risk for years. It was my record that she was looking at, because the rest of the information on it was right. How could I have forgotten that?

I am sure you would remember @Annb

Files are, and can be transferred whether paper or digital... and can be taken out of context. People make interpretations on the limited short notes and make assumptions that the full test or whatever it was has been done when it hasn't....

5.5 this morning.

Mr K was at the NHS hospital today to have a cancer check. We were both so happy that he got the all clear. I will ring the Consultant's PA tomorrow to let her know that it is OK to book his op.

Mr K was asked by the team at the NHS hospital who was doing the op. When he told them, they said that he was a superb surgeon.

We both feel a whole lot better this evening.
Wonderful to read yesterday went so well and unsurprising you both felt better last evening after such a stressful time . Peace be with you both.

That might explain it. I'm beginning to doubt myself though. If I did go to that appointment, Neil would have taken me, but I asked him and he doesn't remember that either. I asked, but no result is back on the odd spotty thing on my face - that's 2 weeks, I think, and it should only take a few days. Alistair is still waiting to hear something about his MRI scan - that was about a month ago. Are all these departments short of staff, I wonder.

The GP that I saw on Monday said she would get the nurse to take bloods for a whole range of tests today, but the nurse had no such instructions so couldn't do it. Maybe she'll get the instruction by next week.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.

Isn’t good afternoon a strange phrase, perhaps it should be “ I would like to wish you all a good afternoon “ Anyway happy national bin day.

In a few short moments I must get mobile. Mainly to appease Mrs J, not for the sake of marital harmony, just because she terrifies me. Time to go.

Thank you @ianpspurs. We had the most wonderful ride back home. Our friend picked us up from the Hospital in his1966 Vauxhall Victor. It was like being driven home in an armchair.. It was a wonderful ending to a really good day.

Do not ever doubt yourself @Annb

You have just said that Neil could not remember taking you... so there is your answer for that.

I don't think messages are passed on properly... I have often had tochase up things like this.... and I am back-and-forth physically to do receptionist to say I need the forms for the blood test so where are they? And eventually the receptionist says come back in a couple of days and I say no, sort it out now. Couple of phone calls by the receptionist because I cannot do phone calls and then on the printer the forms come through and I have my forms to take to the vampire nurse....

A nice day, and then it turned cloudy and cold...

It is only 8 pm but I'm ready for my night's sleep now...

Good night...

11.4 at 02.00 today. I had a small snack last night because I was very hungry - that's the result.

Out for a pot luck meal later so it won't be low carb. I am having to watch vegetable intake at the moment so will just make something normal to take with me.

7.25am FBG 6.3.
Have now got three, three kilo bags of steamed courgette pieces for Kiki in the freezer. Am hoping that will be enough to see her through until they are in season again. Have four more courgettes and actually considered making chutney - for all of about two minutes. Just long enough to look up the recipe and discover I don't have all the ingredients. Although I do have all the spices needed. Surprisingly not sufficient courgettes, although a visit to the garden might fix that.
My visit to the doctor resulted in a box of prescription shampoo with instructions to use it twice a week for the rest of my life.
We shall see if it is effective in eliminating the snowstorm dandruff.
Eek FBG now 6.9 DP is alive and well.
