What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I might have known. Got to the dentist (a bit fraught - the car didn't want to start this morning and then the passenger door wouldn't shut) but got there just in time, only to be told that the new plate still hadn't come back from the mainland. Neil left the engine running in case it wouldn't start again. The car will have to go back to the garage to see if they can fix the passenger door. I should have let the dentist know about the phone - they had been trying to get in touch since yesterday. Now it's just a matter of waiting for them to phone and tell me that the plate is back and go to have that final fitting.

Thank you very much @Krystyna23040
I am still not okay from that phone call from the surgery, I'm still trying to deal with it, because it was a traumatic episode when Apple did that to me in 2019. At the moment I have a piece of faradaycloth and I find that that actually stops anything coming into my phone, so each time I go out my phone is set for what I need it for. Let's say collecting my parcels. Put it in my bag and then when I get to the post office to collect my parcels, they think I am crackers... But it Shields any signal of coming through into my phone and my phone is already set for collecting my parcels... Then I wrap it again and put it in my bag again... I don't use it for anything else while I'm out... But I'm still anxious about it but nothing can come through now while I am driving...
Really good that you have devised a brilliant way of shopping this happening again @gennepher

I thought I was going to have to buy one of those expensive custom-made faraday bags for phones which are bulky, too bulky to go in a handbag... I bought this cloth for another reason which I didn't use it for and I still have plenty if I need to use it for another purpose or another device... actually I might use it for my credit cards and things because the thing I have around them is falling apart...

Jade is my longest time stray... She came to me at the beginning of covid 2020. She's in my garden most of the time. I am obviously pretty much the only one that feeds her... She has severe trust issues. And she still won't let me touch her or go near her. Although a couple of years ago, I found her collapsed on my path with heat stroke, and obviously I picked it up and held her and cooled her down. But she took off once she recovered.

I can get nearer and nearer to her, and I can almost get next to her on the swing...maybe soon she might be a house cat. She was a young cat when she came to me in 2020 so I would say she was about 6 years old now.

Anyway, she was on the garage roof sunning herself earlier today. The sun does not reach the ground in my garden now until about nearly March.

I think I need a ladder to the garage roof to get some sun....

I'll post the link to the photo (it won't upload from this site)..in a minute, I cannot figure out how to post links from the pixel phone... I will have to go to the iPad mini to do this... So in a minute...

Hugs @Annb
Life never runs smoothly!!!

Thanks for the hugs, Gennepher. Not the end of the world though and absolutely nothing compared to the difficulties you face daily.

6.2 at 04.00 today. Feeling very hungry this morning but am making do with tea for the moment. I'm going to have to give breakfast some thought. Because it's easier on the old bones, I've been depending rather too much on the fairly low carb, mixed seed crackers recently and I think it is having an effect on my inner workings - an unwelcome one. So I think I should curb my consumption of those. Must make the effort and make some lowish carb option to have to hand rather than have to make something while my body is still in overnight mode, if not sleep mode.

Big fleece day today. It's supposed to warm up a bit later on, so maybe then I can go back to the big jumper instead.

An awful few months.

Me & Lauren are well, thank you.

But one neighbour has the entire neighborhood up in arms with her antics.

(The one who smashed our windows last Christmas)
Had us all in a state of seige like mentality.

Police and ambulance finally arrive yesterday to remove her, hopefully we thought for a long enough session in a mental hospital getting her fit to rejoin society.

Sadly seems she's back after one nights peace for everyone..

For the more @ianpspurs types.

We don't deserve them.

Ps ...nice song choice
Bill and Ben say thanks. So sorry to hear of the issues you and your neighbourhood have had to endure. Take care and I'm really hoping Mr Maresca and the three tier bus gang can deliver a lesson in humility to the Woolwich Nomads. Something deeply unlikable about this iteration even allowing for my obvious bias.

So sorry to hear of your trouble with that neighbour. It must be pretty awful having to cope with that.

Good afternoon fellow posters and painters?

I read about how inefficient OUR nhs is.
How’s this.
On Monday I emailed a surgeons secretary attaching a picture of the problem.
On Tuesday I had a phone call asking if I could see the surgeon today.
Today Wednesday I was seen by the surgeon. Who said he would sort out a date for surgery.
This afternoon I received a phone call with a date in December.

I would call this excellent. Ok those of you reading this know something of my medical history, know I have a few medical issues and am a regular at the local hospitals.

This afternoon I went and paid for mine and Mrs J’s funeral plans.
I hope this is just a coincidence.

Stay safe all.

You must be well known at your local NHS. Good for you. That was brilliant service.

An update.
No FBG.
Mrs L is doing well and recovering from her hospital stay(s).
I however have been a victim of the plague, by which is prevalent everywhere, so they say, there is a lot of it about!
I slept for three days, four nights and still not past it yet. Cold, hot, shaking, shivering, coughing, sneezing, high temperature, headache and nausea, plus other biological not very nice symptoms.
It floored me. The worst bout of the flu thing since...... Whenever or ever.
Only had bites of bits to keep me going, drinking water getting my water bills worth I tell you.
Without my ability to fast for a few days, I have no idea.
Mrs L thankfully, is still in a sleeping beauty mode... And that has helped with her care, except for my second night out of it completely, Mrs L needed a cuppa, and decided on a shower, dry blow her hair then some toast and tea before returning upstairs to join me in the sweaty pits of my delerium.
Never heard a thing!
Other than that, lots of things going on, visits, appointments, carers, amongst many others.
No plans but hibernating, in this freezing weather.
Can't do chrimbo stuff yet, with the roofers coming next week (again) and hopefully fix the bay roof this time.

for some reason, I have been getting YouTube videos of really scary stuff especially about the reports made available to the food regulators about the banned ingredients in the EU, that are used in our cheaper versions of supermarket and high street made market bread manufacturers.
It is criminal.

Best wishes to you all, stay warm and safe.

A good idea to use it to protect your cards @gennepher. I have a purse that does that and it is so heavy.

You could also use some it to shield your car keys when they are in the house.

I used to keep my cards in a stainless steel holder for visitor's cards which fitted inside my purse. However, I got rid of my big shoulder bag because it got in the way when in the wheelchair so had to get a small purse to fit in. Luckily I did manage to get one which does the same job and it all fits into my tiny shoulder bag. Good thought about car keys though.

I ordered some things off Amazon on Saturday and I was promised next day delivery Sunday but they never came, then they said it was good to arrive on Monday, then it became, they said they were going to arrive on Tuesday. Some items came on Tuesday, some small items. Then they said the rest were going to come on Wednesday.

One item came today, a packet of needles. I was already out doing some shopping and I had been to the pharmacy from a text message that came while I was out saying I had some medicine due. I went to collect the medicine and it was something that had been unobtainable for months..

I then went to collect the parcel then from the post office... and before I went home, I checked my phone in case of any late messages. And there was another message from the pharmacy just a couple of minutes earlier saying come and collect your medicine.... I thought it was a mistake, but I went anyway. It turned out it wasn't a mistake, but it was the same medicine again, and I said but you've already given it to me but I also said you have not had this medicine for months and months (it was some essential specific eyedrops the Liverpool hospital said I had to take indefinitely, and the only alternative my doctor's surgery could offer me with something that did not agree with my eyes so I never took it), and so the till lady said oh keep it it has your name and address on and it has gone through the system as yours, I know you've not had this for months and months....
So that was a bit of a bonus... and saved me just £20 online because I've been buying them myself, when they were unavailable at the pharmacy...

But all this to'ing and fro'ing took all morning from 8 am to 1:30 pm and I was exhausted when I got back, and I have been asleep the rest of the day.

And guess what happened just before my post office shop closed at 10 pm tonight, the final bit of my Amazon order came in just before the post office shop closed. So that becomes a trip Thursday morning....

I'm so glad I have my parcels delivered to the post office, because at least they are safe until I can go and collect them. Now if that had been put on my front doorstep tonight, I would not have known, and I would probably have never seen it in the morning, it would've vanished overnight....

I did a big grumble to Chat GPT... about Amazon... I am a prime member and so all those little items I ordered that I am unable to physically go around around shops nowadays to look for, were supposed to come on Sunday... this is what Amazon promised and this is what I pay for.

Anyway, ChatGPT suggested with some research to back it up, that it could be inadvisable to order over weekends, because some depots, delivery drivers, vans and stuff and lots more are not at full capacity at weekends, and this is when the most problems arise before things get delivered... and some of these problems compound. ChatGPT said that it would probably be better if I ordered on Monday when the depots et cetera, are most likely to be working at full capacity and efficiently. This week has had me demented with Amazon.. however, I won't order anything over the weekend next time, but hang onto my order until Monday morning... because I think ChatGPT is right, I have had a few problems recently on orders I have made on the Friday night or Saturday morning.

This morning was hard work.... and I have slept most of the day again.... I have just woken up at midnight to post this....Cat Midnight is sleeping on me and I am falling asleep again...

Night night....sweet dreams...
