What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Magic Monday for me and madam BG 4.4.
I'm delighted and surprised as I had too many Pinot Grigios yesterday!!
I've started a new regime though and go for a 20 minute walk after supper. I do hope it clears up today otherwise we might have a funny number tomorrow.

What a difference 1 (thick) slice of toast can make!!!

Up this morning from the usual 5s and even 4s to 6.2! I treated myself yesterday to a bacon toastie. Won't be doing that any time soon with my hba1c test looming in May!!!

On a plus point in able to read my body so much better as the days and weeks go by. I've not yet mastered things but feel thanks to all the brilliant help and advice from everyone in this forum I'm well on the way.

Happy Monday folks. Nice bright blue skies here from the beautiful promenade. Just going to nip into Sainsburys for a treat. Bacon and eggs. Just how I like them. Then painting all my woodwork at home. When I'm in a painting mood everything gets done. Hubby knows not to stand still as he could cop it!!!

Morning all. Up to 8.8 at 7.25 am. Up early and just about to set off to the hospital for my 9am epidural/ spinal steroid injection when I had a call from them cancelling as the consultant has flu. Apparently they can't risk carrying out the procedure if there is any risk infection involved. Have to wait for a phone-call to rearrange when he is back in work! Feeling deflated after psyching myself up and disappointed as I was hoping it would ease the pain and help me to get moving again. Still, probably for the best as the steroid raises blood sugars and mine are up anyway at the moment. Every cloud ----as they say. Enjoy this sunny day one and all.

good morning every one, Sunday morning 6.5 stayed pretty much like that all day. this morning 17.4!! looks like it's going to be "one of THOSE days" trained early before setting off for work and still in the high teens. Definitely going to be chasing me tail today.
Take care everyone

hi ziggy i used to have a cat she never stayed out over night but would come into the room of a morning to be let out antime from 3pm onwards and i would drag myself out of bed to see to her let her out feed her etc but sometimes i think she just wanted company but not upstairs she had to be down

I agree, I tried a slice of toast HiLo 5g to stop the dawn dump. I got bread dump instead!!

good day everyone

was 4.5 this morning

I notice it's often a little bit higher on days after I have my main meal during the afternoon then don't have much supper. Either it was that or too much chocolate pudding
What you call changeable weather today isn't it? Lovely warm sunshine then biting wind and freezing fog, then sun again

Don't you just love this mysterious world of Diabetes and checking you BG levels.

Woke up to 7.2, (my BG spiked during the night while asleep before waking at 4am to over 8 according to my Freestyle Libre ), and it rose this morning hovering around 8.8 before lunch at 1pm.

I have just finger pricked 5.15pm, and Vampira informs me it is down to 4.7. and Libre shows 4.9 (which I appreciate lags by 10-15 mins but shows a steady downward curve about 1 hour after lunch)

are such levels and swings expected as I am confused - or am I just an odd ball (humorous replies won't offend)

6.5 today - not much sleep (and naughty Sunday potatoes for tea at the parents). I seem to have dodged the bullet - been for diabetic eye screening today - which looks good. Phew! One more thing ticked off the list.

My wife has those, sorry to hear about your cancellation. Take care.

I was even more shocked during the day as I was 6.4 after 2 hours having only had 2 rashers of bacon and 2 fried eggs! And before dinner I was 6.0. Normally it's 4s or 5s. I've had practically zero carbs for dinner and 6.4 after 1 hour. Just got to wait til 8pm to test again! Can this still be from yesterday's toast I'm wondering. Only other bad thing I had was 2 pieces of 90% dark chocolate. I've never been so obsessed about food in my life!!! Never gave what I ate a second thought before my dx which is probably why it all went wrong :-(

I've always been interested in food and mildly interested in the effects. I think I'm a bit of a bore now, telling my husband how many carbs are in this and that but you do look at food in a different way don't you? I love toast, more the smell than the taste well except as soldiers for a boiled egg. A little like fish and chip shops, love the smell but they never live up to the promise.
I don't think you can blame the toast though and the choc seems a bit odd too.

5.9 after 2 hours. Got my new exercise bike tonight. Another thing I've hardly touched on in life ....exercise. But I'm feeling great. Going to see how my BS are tomorriw but hoping for better results from the fruits if my labour! Ps my husband is getting the carbs info every which way he turns. There is no escape

@Debandez I hope the bike does the biz, you have to get on it to get the fruits. My husband tried some of my Oomi noodles tonight (6g) and said he was OK if he had them instead of his linguine. Very happy. They do suffer in silence don't they? Bless!!
Keep us posted on the bike and BGs

Noodles. I could just eat some now but having zilch til breakfast! My first go on the bike saw me burning off....drum roll.....70 calories lol. Only did 15 minutes and was in a right sweat!!! I'm working up from that. Can't go down can I
