What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning folks, 5.4 for me, a tad disappointing as I went to bed on a 5.2 and was hoping to be in the fours.
Happy anniversary Ian, lovely song. have a lovely weekend all, we are looking after our two yr old grandson today so it'll be a busy one.

Morning...happy anniversary @ianpspurs ...up to an early breakfast...freezing here so the heating is on...another coffee brewing ...planning a weekend of paperwork & painting...nothing creative or challenging...just the living room walls to be second coated...the biggest challenge for me is getting started ( I loathe decorating:()...woke to a 5.8

Today for Prick and Tell I have a 4.6 to show. Early start which follows a well established pattern of very low carb = early start next day.
The prominent feature of today is that it marks our 34th Wedding Anniversary. When I go to my gym soon I will be in the same spot where I started that day. Frosty start that day but gorgeous sunshine by 2.00 pm video (dvd now) shows it clearly.
Hang tough folks.
Congrats on the wedding anniversary Ian, and a lovely choice of song. Edwina Hayes is great isn't she? Her cover of Famous Blue Raincoat is hauntingly beautiful.

Happy anniversary both.

Morning folks. I am helping myself to a 5.7 this morning.
I may go a bit quieter over the next few days as we are heading off for a little break. I get to add a new name to the list of 25 countries I have visited in my life - Portugal. Not super exotic I know, but needed to tick it off the list at some point. Anyway a few nights city break in Lisbon awaits. The urchins are looking forward to it, and Mrs Rhurbarb has been busy on trip advisor looking for yummy places for us to eat.
I might leave the meter at home and give my fingers a break as well. Toodle pip for now.

Thank you to everyone for the good wishes on our anniversary. Getting the business part of the day over earlyish hopefully. Julie still in bed but I have done my 40 mins exercise bike. Just waiting for animal feed store to open up realised we need a 20kgs bag of chicken feed urgently. Very rock n roll here but cleaning the coop can wait a day:angelic:

Morning All. 5.9 at 0800 which is better.
@ianpspurs Congratulations to you and Mrs P and have a lovely day wandering down Memory Lane and some treats I hope.
Have a great Saturday everyone. First real frost here in W Sussex. Stay well, stay safe.
In the 5s so all good @PenguinMum. No frost here but there definitely was 34 years ago. Treats? I've been told I have too many socks and coats already:angelic:

Morning @PenguinMum yes, very glad it’s the weekend. I don’t normally work particularly long hours. It’s just been very busy and intense recently. I was saying that I don’t see the need to supplement for vitamin c or the b vitamins as I get enough through what I eat. There’s a lot of discussion about differing needs for various types of vitamins depending on the way of eating you follow - see link below for one such discussion and links to further studies.

What I’ve learned from my journey to date is all traditional advice relating to food intake needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and investigated/adapted to your own needs. Personally I’m listening to my body more - if I feel good, have energy (I have it to burn these days), am thinking clearly and generally healthy, then I see no reason to change.

Morning Goonergal and thanks for your take on that and the link was very interesting. I dont feel able to exclude veg and fruit completely though I havent eaten berries since they became unseasonal. I crave clementines though. I am in Kent this coming week and am usually very focused there so am going to trial one clem after supper and see where it gets me. That for me would be better than chocolate! Hey we are all different.
Have a great weekend.

Socks and coats arent treats. I was thinking more a glass of something dry with bubbles and maybe a clementine! Will you have dinner a deux or celebrate with the family?

New socks are very high on my list of treats. Julie likes bubbles, I like dark and strong reds. Dinner will be a deux next potential family get together will be around November 20th for grandson's birthday. That will be the first time all our boys and grandchildren will have been together. Means myself or Julie will need to drive approx 1000 miles in 3 days.
For a real treat I wanted to order a full load of logs and stack them neatly today - I love that job. Sadly, I was told no:arghh:
