What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I have my grandaughter for 4 days whilst her mum's have fun in the sun. My daughter's 30th birthday presie. Day 1, only 12.40pm and I'm exhausted already! She is just 2 years of age and has the energy of an army. :)

When they have mistaken us for sisters it's been in.an Italian restaurant where the waiters are trying to make us laugh. They succeed! But of course i love when that happens. My daughter isn't too happy ;)
 
I never used to take vitamins, pre dx I was a huge fruit eater , recently I went to a lecture about them and found many of those studies are done on totally healthy people, where the effects arnt noticed. However those who have an underlying illness or lack of micronutrients do see benefit. It was enough to make me start a regime. I dont really know what I'm doing but I'm starting and noting. The cost is very small, the upside potential may be great

I use magnesium for cramps and D3 with K2 to help with absorption of the D3. Don’t see a need for multi-vitamins or b / c.

Feeling good on my regime so no need to change.
 
@Goonergal first I bet you’re glad its Friday, you seem to work such long hours. Hope you have a great weekend.
I feel I need some supplements because I cant see any other way to get Vit C which I need to convert the iron in all the protein I now eat. The only veg with Vit C is cruciferous but not the levels in fruit. I also like to take a good all round B vit. I am just interested why you dont think its necessary.
 
Today for Prick and Tell I have a 4.6 to show. Early start which follows a well established pattern of very low carb = early start next day.
The prominent feature of today is that it marks our 34th Wedding Anniversary. When I go to my gym soon I will be in the same spot where I started that day. Frosty start that day but gorgeous sunshine by 2.00 pm video (dvd now) shows it clearly.

Morning @PenguinMum yes, very glad it’s the weekend. I don’t normally work particularly long hours. It’s just been very busy and intense recently. I was saying that I don’t see the need to supplement for vitamin c or the b vitamins as I get enough through what I eat. There’s a lot of discussion about differing needs for various types of vitamins depending on the way of eating you follow - see link below for one such discussion and links to further studies.

What I’ve learned from my journey to date is all traditional advice relating to food intake needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and investigated/adapted to your own needs. Personally I’m listening to my body more - if I feel good, have energy (I have it to burn these days), am thinking clearly and generally healthy, then I see no reason to change.

Thanks @Goonergal Hope the walking football goes well. The idea appeals but when I stop and think about it my game was built around a set of attributes totally unsuited .
