Have a great break rhubarb73Morning folks. I am helping myself to a 5.7 this morning.
I may go a bit quieter over the next few days as we are heading off for a little break. I get to add a new name to the list of 25 countries I have visited in my life - Portugal. Not super exotic I know, but needed to tick it off the list at some point. Anyway a few nights city break in Lisbon awaits. The urchins are looking forward to it, and Mrs Rhurbarb has been busy on trip advisor looking for yummy places for us to eat.
I might leave the meter at home and give my fingers a break as well. Toodle pip for now.
Really? We are still getting loads of raspberries and for a few years now we have had a few random strawberries into November.I dont feel able to exclude veg and fruit completely though I havent eaten berries since they became unseasonal.
Thanks @shelley262 I'm not overly big on celebrations but my heart is set on some big summer barbeques with all our boys and grandchildren. My birthday is almost midsummer day so perfect time . Without what is now the full compliment and anywhere but here will not properly work for me and the boys see this as THE place we all belong. All 3 of them helped construct a playground spread around the garden specifically for the purpose of recreating for their children what my parents did for them.4.6 bg on a very cold frosty morning here in the West
@ianpspurs have a brilliant wedding anniversary. I love celebrations - enjoy your day
@rhubarb73 enjoy your short break in Lisbon it’s on my list I’d love to visit the city have fun with your family your bgs will await your return! We are up your way again on Tuesday at mums and gather it’s half term as well as Halloween!
Hope everyone has a good day today my heating is on but determined to get out there too as think once sun gets going it’s going to be a lovely day.
Not "super exotic"? IMO every country is super exotic because there's so much to learn, see, and do! Portugal sounds lovely. Have an amazing time!I get to add a new name to the list of 25 countries I have visited in my life - Portugal. Not super exotic I know.
just read the vitamin C article @Goonergal fascinating the body is an amazing thing how it adapts and changes when it’s fat burning rather than sugar burning. I couldn’t do carnivore but it’s fascinating how the body can function well just on meatMorning @PenguinMum yes, very glad it’s the weekend. I don’t normally work particularly long hours. It’s just been very busy and intense recently. I was saying that I don’t see the need to supplement for vitamin c or the b vitamins as I get enough through what I eat. There’s a lot of discussion about differing needs for various types of vitamins depending on the way of eating you follow - see link below for one such discussion and links to further studies.
What I’ve learned from my journey to date is all traditional advice relating to food intake needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and investigated/adapted to your own needs. Personally I’m listening to my body more - if I feel good, have energy (I have it to burn these days), am thinking clearly and generally healthy, then I see no reason to change.

5.3 seems fine from here and a 6 for the top number is none too shabby either @neithskye5.3. My levels have been all over the place lately. From 3.8 to 6 to 4.9, all within a few hours. Not sure what's going on. Bad BG! No biscuit!
Happy Saturday! Still dark here in Toronto, Canada.
Thanks. It's just for about a month I've been consistently in the 4.2-4.9 range now suddenly I'm getting these spiky up-and-downs - within a few hours. Just weird is all. Which of course makes me obsessively test.5.3 seems fine from here and a 6 for the top number is none too shabby either @neithskye
Great number @geefull stay warm. Base layers for me these days gotta look thegood morning all
4.2 today
Ooh I'm feeling the cold this morning, it's not below freezing here, but only just. I'll put on my wooly tights and big girl pants later and go out to do a bit of shopping later today probably
Hope your day is a good one
Seen this and thought of you bubbsieMorning...happy anniversary @ianpspurs ...up to an early breakfast...freezing here so the heating is on...another coffee brewing ...planning a weekend of paperwork & painting...nothing creative or challenging...just the living room walls to be second coated...the biggest challenge for me is getting started ( I loathe decorating)...woke to a 5.8

Happy Anniversary to you both. Hope you have lots of fun.Today for Prick and Tell I have a 4.6 to show. Early start which follows a well established pattern of very low carb = early start next day.
The prominent feature of today is that it marks our 34th Wedding Anniversary. When I go to my gym soon I will be in the same spot where I started that day. Frosty start that day but gorgeous sunshine by 2.00 pm video (dvd now) shows it clearly.
Hang tough folks.
So far its sunny here in London
