What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I didn't get to sleep til 4.45 this morning so I'm putting my 6.8 down to that (and not the 6 salt and chilli chips I pinched off my son's plate!). My mind was buzzing with everything xmas. I have my auntie coming Thursday/Friday from Dublin and lots of planning around that. She is like my second mum. Even was before my mum passed away 11 years ago. We have a very special bond. I'm going to treat her to some low carb baking delights I plan on doing. Don't bake, can't bake....but giving it a whirl. What could possibly go wrong!!!!

Hope you are managing to get into the festive spirit. Its not always easy. I'm listening to Christmas music at every opportunity!

I'm out with the local diabetic group this evening at a carvery restaurant. 3 courses for £17. This will be very interesting. I've been to 1 meeting so far (3 plates of biscuits in the middle of the table!), next one in Jan. No meeting December, just the meal. I've also been invited by my practice manager on behalf of all the Drs to an afternoon tea for all Drs and PPG members. That's in January and that will be even more interesting! I know I will have to keep it zipped and I will do my very best.

Hope you all have good days. Holidays a comin' xxx
At the carvery I have been going to of late you can have the meat with just salad and some of the vegetables as well if you wish.
The deserts however are all a huge carb fest so I avoid them tempting as they are.

Blimey, Ian .bad enough being a spurs fan, without the worry of all that as well.

On a serious note..I agree with the many.
Your banter and good humour would be missed.

Don't know enough to give advice to an old hand, but hang tough fella ..

As a spurs fan you've been waiting since 1960, for the good times to return..

So a few days or weeks waiting in here, should be child's play,

At least until you and your bloods get to where you want to be....<prays>
17 April 1961 actually young sir :angelic: Mr Levy seems to think the Champs League money will do him and Uncle Joe for now. Bloods are reasonable but pretty sure this test, post, read malarkey can have the same effect as a hard night on snakebite at times.:angelic:

Just seen the Endocrinologist and he’s thrown up the ‘am I T1’ question so....
just had about 20g of carbs in orange juice cos he wants to tease my system and am waiting to have blood tests for:
B12, Ferretin, c peptide, Hba1c (which he said they might not let him do) GAD 65, IAAZ, zinc antibodies and one that looks like Folics? folic avid?
He also said that having gone low carb Ive got my BSs down but it means it’ll be very difficult for my body to ever take carbs again Not sure how to take that?

Morning...oh dear lots & lots of quality control 'sampling' yesterday...plus a couple slices of pizza there was just no time to cook dinner...all done now...a reasonably impressive haul all of which will be given away tomorrow...woke to a not surprising 6.5:eek:.

Good morning folks!

Well, my 48h fast didn’t go according to plan. I went 24h and then nature decided I was hungry. Just the way it should be. Had a massive hearty dinner. Postprandial was 4.7mmol/L and woke to 4.9 this morning. I guess that’s my pre-Christmas fasting out of the way :hilarious:
