What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning All. 5.5 at 0800. Off for 6 months bloods soon, everything crossed.
Get well wishes to all those under the weather. Stamina wishes to everyone with the seasonal prep. @ianpspurs I understand why you might need a break from early morning testing but please stay with the bantz.
Have a good Monday everyone. Stay safe, well and hypo free.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who have yet to write a Christmas card.
Been a bit preoccupied here in sun drenched Tilehurst or is it just drenched Tilehurst. This morning my meter whispered 6.7 to me.
I don't know about you folks but all of me's and my pals chaos and mayhem have been summoned to see the diabetic nurse at my GP's, it should be an interesting session. I think the nurse might need a few headache pills hehehehe

Morning all. Behind again. And BG still a bit hit and miss. Saturday’s 5.1 soon shot up into the sixes. Yesterday was exactly 5 and stayed pretty constant all day. Starting today with a 5.3. Just 3 working days before a 2 week break. Can’t wait!
Holidays a comin woohoooo

Dear Deirdre.

I have this constant fear, perhaps you can help.?

And I must confess, that even so early in the week I'm starting to feel like a fraud....
pretty well nourished..eating food I am enjoying once again..( delicious mozorella/tomato salad with chicken thighs in a thai chilli, last night, btw...yum)

In fact I wake up, better then I have in many years.
I can run like I did as a kid, i can cycle to the station at silly o'clock..and even ENJOY it.

In fact if I don't know better, I feel rather ..err...''normal'.

yet normal doesn't cover the improvement I feel in my general health, mindset & mood.

I feel fitter, healthier and with improved clarity of thought.

Question is.....

Should I be concerned that professor Xavier maybe looking for me...

(Ps .I was5.7 this morning, if that helps )

Thanks for that @PenguinMum. I do often feel like I am visiting a parallel universe when reading some posts and threads. I need to take much more heed of Nancy Pelosi's dictum: You get into a tickle contest with a skunk, you get tinkle all over you.:angelic:

Easing off the testing for a while and evaluating what has worked and not worked this year. Not at all clear that testing and posting each morning, or some parts of the forum, are helpful to me but I quite like the bantz. Have a great day and play nice,

It's easy to get hooked on testing and panicking over unexpected readings. I have to test twice a day because of insulin dosage, but I don't keep detailed records or food diaries. I am slowly finding out what works for me while trying to live as normal a life as I can, ok my sort of normal......
Like you, some parts of the forum I regard as off limits and never bother with, other parts have been incredibly helpful. Also I enjoy the humour.
Good luck with your analysis, just try and remember you are dealing with a very complex equation with a hugh number of unknowns.

I didn't get to sleep til 4.45 this morning so I'm putting my 6.8 down to that (and not the 6 salt and chilli chips I pinched off my son's plate!). My mind was buzzing with everything xmas. I have my auntie coming Thursday/Friday from Dublin and lots of planning around that. She is like my second mum. Even was before my mum passed away 11 years ago. We have a very special bond. I'm going to treat her to some low carb baking delights I plan on doing. Don't bake, can't bake....but giving it a whirl. What could possibly go wrong!!!!

Hope you are managing to get into the festive spirit. Its not always easy. I'm listening to Christmas music at every opportunity!

I'm out with the local diabetic group this evening at a carvery restaurant. 3 courses for £17. This will be very interesting. I've been to 1 meeting so far (3 plates of biscuits in the middle of the table!), next one in Jan. No meeting December, just the meal. I've also been invited by my practice manager on behalf of all the Drs to an afternoon tea for all Drs and PPG members. That's in January and that will be even more interesting! I know I will have to keep it zipped and I will do my very best.

Hope you all have good days. Holidays a comin' xxx

Dear Worried of London

I think if you are feeling this good you have absolutely diddly squat to concern yourself over!

More good news, Professor Xavier has done one (with his merry X-Men!). So worry ye not.

Have a good day

If its a yes or no answer you are looking for you are unlikely to find it on this thread. We mainly deal with probability . Sorry if this message in any way interrupts anyones perception of reality, its likely that normal service will be resumed shortly .

Not a topping I have heard of - is it a Danish delicacy?:angelic: Well, you are still here and a string of Hba1cs all fine so you obviously do things right. - put on yer Frankie tee shirt and chill
We would all miss out on comments like this if you didn't post and that in itself would be a travesty. We love your sense of humour. You don't need to even test your BS, we will throw in a guestimate for you;)

( Hahahaha.. .love it..:D:D:D )

Well that's good..because all that looking over my shoulder was giving me a stiff neck.

Morning all 5.1 around 5.00 a.m. - very lacklustre after an unplanned fast. Easing off the testing for a while and evaluating what has worked and not worked this year. Blimey, Ian .bad enough being a spurs fan, without the worry of all that as well.

On a serious note..I agree with the many.
Your banter and good humour would be missed.

Don't know enough to give advice to an old hand, but hang tough fella ..

As a spurs fan you've been waiting since 1960, for the good times to return..

So a few days or weeks waiting in here, should be child's play,

At least until you and your bloods get to where you want to be....<prays>

good morning all :)

4.6 today

well, the coffee yoghurt was good with the choc. cake, I didn't put quite enough sweetener in it but I enjoy the tartness of the yoghurt so it was good ;)
Off out shopping today . stocking up on cream, bacon and other splendid stuff then delivering the last of my local cards :)

Hope your day treats you well :)
