What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning everyone. 8.6 this morning, busy sorting out my levels as I drop the last glicazide. Off out this morning and it's raining and gloomy looking out there. Never mind, it's Friday and we have a nice weekend planned.

4.2 for me this morning. And after no sleep Wednesday night I think I slept too much last night - 10hrs which never happens but don’t feel amazing for it

It’s been good for your fbgs too, great result.

Morning all
5.8 for me this morning. Bit peeved the weight loss has stuck this week...its only my 3rd week so surely it should still be falling. Maybe I'm going the other way in not eating enough? I generally have less than 800 cals and 30g carb. I'm just not hungry - I do 16/8 IF pretty much everyday without trying...
Anyway enough moaning haha, it's almost the weekend.

Good morning all
4.9 bgs
I’ve got some work on over next few days but weather looks a bit uninspiring and OH has a nasty cold plus cough developing - he may be assigned to spare room tonight! Hoping that I don’t pick it up! @Bubbsie hope you feel better soon sounds horrid btw love your avatar @Emma_369 pleased you had better night catching up. @DJC3 that codefree will affect your inner calm with it’s no rhyme or reason even our bg champions @Goonergal and bulkbiker had unexpectedly high readings despite no correlation with food or stress etc!

Hi @AngiH that must be really dispiriting after sticking at it for three weeks. It’s a hard one but I’d be tempted to switch it around a bit and try different methods. Fasting works best with some intermittent feasting I find - looks like your carb count is excellent maybe a bit more food not carbs though! on a few days a week? Sometimes the body self preserves if it has too few calories and it could be the cause? It is hard though - if you’re not hungry you must be consuming your own fat. Equally it could just be one of those things and if you keep going it will come down! Good luck your bgs are good for the morning and that’s the most important result so well done you.

Thank you. I won't give up at all, just now need to maybe tweak a bit...or maybe I am being a little impatient. The first 2 weeks for weight loss were great but the bg levels were still high, now my bg levels are pretty good and weight loss has stopped. Mind you I'm terrible for jumping on the scales too often. I think some exercise on my air strider may help.

Have you hit a plateau?
Week 1 and 2 of weight loss is usually burning glycogen which is partly water so that shifts fairly quickly. As you lose weight, your metabolism slows as your body makes adjustments.
So. Give it a big kick - look at calorific intake - can you adjust it. Exercise - can you increase? This does not necessarily mean going to the gym, but increase daily activity, maybe walking faster. HIIT works really well and carrying stuff. Eat protein before exercises - it burns better.
Maybe sift through the detritus of a google search on “when your diet hits a plateau.” Be mindful of snake oil sales.
All the best, whatever you decide to do.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who looking forward to the weekend.
A gentle 5.7 on the meter this morning.

Mrs J is going to a funeral today, leaving me's unsupervised again, yep sneaky phone calls to my mates chaos and mayhem, planning is being undertaken as I type. What we are planning is secret squirrel stuff, but it's rumoured the moon is made of cheese, we shall see.....
Have a good one folks I'm planning to.

It's good to hear that the insulin isn't as bad as you'd think - I'm still nervous but feeling a little bit more confident about Monday now - so thank you. I too am struggling with levels in the morning - last night I had the lowest reading I have had so far of 12.2 - this morning I have woken up to 16.8
