What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

4.8 for me grotty day outside but very happy inside.

Just catching up on the last of yesterday’s posts
@ianpspurs that is a tragic story about your son’s friend. Shows how our carefully planned out lives can change in a flash. It’s possibly just as well we don’t know what’s round the corner.
@jjraak I love your posts, sounds like you are working too hard though, and the holiday is just the tonic ( slimline! With gin of course) you need.
@SaskiaKC glad you got your coffee at least after kettle malfunction.
@Bubbsie hugs for the cramp I used to get leg cramps when I was pregnant and couldn’t believe how painful they were - completely took my breath away. I think some people on here have used magnesium spray with good effect ( @Goonergal)
@rhubarb73 I’ve never noticed that statue of Canning - or perhaps never realised who it was. You’re right it’s an odd and rather pretentious choice of attire.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

A report on yesterday's visit on the hospital diabetic clinic. HbA1c 55. Liver function tests the always naughty ALT was 48 ( has been up to 500 ).
Yes change the Metformin to slow release, but try dropping the dosage from 2 x 500mg twice a day if the problems persist and compensate by upping my insulin. The consultant was very pleased with my daily readings and proceeded to tell me off for not allowing myself the odd treat!! Now that's a first.
This morning's reading after a treat last night hehehe 5.9, I was expecting a reading in the 8's.

Well folks today Mrs J has her work cut out she will be supervising our youngest grandson, me's and my mates chaos and mayhem. hehehehe

Morning all,

My oh my , saw my grand daughter take her first steps yesterday ,, now thats entertainment....... - I'd totally forgotten however how much time , effort and patience it takes being a parent and more specifically a mum.. ... Anyhow 4.3 for me this morning and another damp day of finding ways of spending time which amuse and entertain and hopefully are in some way beneficial to a pre 5 year old and his younger sister. ...oh yea and their mum .... Wishing you all a good day.....at least the wind has dropped a bit here...

Having family around you is clearly very beneficial to your bg - obvious but worth noting. All in all hugely uplifting post:)

7.1 this morning after it being 5.4 before bed. Is this normal? Definitely an improvement from the 9+ I was getting when I started monitoring though =)

Welcome to the forum @West335

If you started at 9+. And are now scoring 5.4 at some point. That's good
The early morning FBG .Can be the last to succumb to a modicum of control

Search DAWN PHENOMENON. For more info.

Basically, our bodies get used to what we've been feeding them over many years, and when we CONCIOUSLY try to change ANY part of that, our bodies can misinterpret it as a sign it needs to kick in and help us in some way.

In the morning that help is a boost to get us up out of bed and ready for a new day.

So, yeah it's ok .and your doing well :)

Morning All. 6.3 this morning after sleeping the sleep of the dead.
@Bubbsie and @JohnEGreen hope the cramps dont linger.
@Trick great score you deserved that cheese on toast!
@OrsonKartt lovely story...took me back. I still have their first shoes.
@alf_Josiah good review at the clinic..enjoy today
@SaskiaKC good going with the numbers.
@West335 hello and keep on track, you’ll be fine.
Have a good Thursday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Is he saying “the escape plan is to instigate a public vote, cause chaos and then hide over there, forever, with our big bag of dosh.”

Morning All. Still blowing a hoolie down here on the Coast. TV Meteo said something about a jet stream onto the UK, makes sense, hope it stops soon. Need to drive near Beachey Head to Newhaven today. Sure my beautiful Citroen will make it, no problemo.

FBG 7.5 mmo/lt just now. Feeling good as weight is down too. Cold turkey on carbs seems to be working.

Good morning folks. A flat 5 when the wheel of puzzlement, laugher and derision was given a spin at 0800.
Late up this morning because I had a nap yesterday afternoon and the whole wake/sleep clock pushed itself forward a couple of hours. Wonder how long I will be punished for that bit of pain free pleasure.
Anyhow, it’s still blowing a hooley outside so it will be 10 minutes hurtle into town and an hours battle home this morning.
Have a great day if you can, stand in the wind with roller skates on if you can’t.
