What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning All. A ludicrous 6.7 after chicken salad last night couldnt be bothered repeating the test.
Food choice perfectly fine as always. New strips? battery or meter need changing? Just a duff reading but hug anyway. Great A1c by the way

6.1 this morning. I have been seeing higher number for the last few days with my FBG being just about lowest number of the day, Wasted loads of strips rewashing hands and double checking. Thought it might have been that I had added additional fibre to my diet also the keto king bread had oat fibre in, when actual oats are a no no for me but the oat fibre has zero carbs so couldn't understand what was going on. I have now been feeling ropey for the past couple of days so my body is fighting something. Had my flu jab (for the first time ever) 3 weeks ago so in theory it shouldn't be that but not quite convinced. Don't think its Covid but there is certainly plenty of it about in the area I live.

@Ryhia hope you feel better soon, My reading was 7.1 this morning which is slightly better then yesterdays. I tried to have a low carb day yesterday and ended up having around 52g of carbs( i think) which sounds low to me but i'm very new to this :)
Thanks for your kind words. I'm sure I will be fine in a few days and in any case as I am a work in progress, frustratingly I can get an FBG in the 6s even when I am feeling ok, depends what I have eaten the day before, what time I got up and dawn phenomenon. Don't know what your initial HbA1c was on diagnosis or when you were diagnosed but 7.1 from 7.6 the day before is certainly going in the right direction and not particularly high It looks like lowering your carbs is a good thing for you and by the way, 52gms of carbs is in no way out of the ordinary I try to have lower but you may not need to. Best way to find out is to do some experimentation by testing your bloods before and 2 hours after meals to see how you react to the food you are eating.

If you have questions about what to eat or just anything to do with diabetes, you may wish to consider posting your own thread. There are plenty of knowledgeable people on this forum willing to share their knowledge and experiences.

That's really great if you have managed to get down from 17.8 to 7.1. Go man!
