What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

This morning....

5.3 fasting
6.1 @ 2 hours

Enjoy the holiday everyone :) Hope the weather's nice.

Don't worry - leave the dust - it won't go away - but the sun might.

Ah, but the bedroom really needs sorting - I've barely touched it since moving in March '10, apart from surface dusting. I'm sure there's tons of stuff I should have thrown away when I moved! Also I've still got things missing since the move  .

Though gardening is better exercise.

What I really should be doing is writing reports instead of posting on here!

Last two mornings have been 4.7.
I would choose the garden Viv, plus I make sure I get added Vit D from a bottle. Perhaps that is why I am staring at some cobwebs in my bedroom.
However, I have to take my boxes of Census materials in to my Area Supervisor this morning and then I am all done.

Here are my readings for today:

6.0 fasting
6.7 @ 2 hours, after exercise

The Vit D reason had slipped my mind totally! Thanks, guys. Anyway I did garden, and cleared a number of pots and dead-headed the buddleia.

6.1 at 08:00 today - again!

This morning:

6.2 fasting
6.8 @ 2 hours - a bit too high for me

My readings on this autumnal morning:

6.0 fasting
6.3 @ 2 hours

6.3 at 08:00 - should have got up earlier!

I'm not bothered about levels just over 6 normally - just with it being so near my next HbA1c it would have been nice to have that lovely run of 4s over the next 19 days!

5.8 and my highest over the last 7 days has been 6.3 :)

Viv,
Are you still drinking the wine?
Only ask as I had a glass of wine with my Sunday lunch and ended up with a 6.1 Monday morning after 3 mornings at 5.3 previouslyand then since then this week I have been 5.0, 5,2 and 5.2 without the wine!!
HTH, good luck.

4.3 just now - usually runs between 4.1 and as high as 4.8; even hit a couple of 3.9s last couple of weeks, but have been working hard (diet and exercise) to get off the dozen pounds in weight I put on over two almost consecutive holidays :-(

Did my monthly home A1cNow test yesterday and it has edged down to 4.8 again, so things must be working, though the weight seems to be a bit resistant to coming off...

6.3 at 06:00 (don't ask!)

6.1 at 08:00!

Angie - I'm not drinking every day at the moment - didn't last night or the night before - but I definitely think it may have something to do with alcohol in the system. My lovely run of 4s was when I was eating too many carbs (via summer fruit) for my diet  . Now I'm probably under 50g carb per day, even with the wine, but running at about 6 all the time - just a few points either side.

I'm going to be very strict with myself over the next fortnight, and I'll report back. Apparently it takes about 3 days to clear the alcohol out of the system completely and get back to running on ketones not alcohol.

I should add that I'm really very pleased with a run of steady readings at about this level - it's very good for a type 2 and nothing to be ashamed of!

PS I've got 2 lovely fresh figs in today's shopping

Viv,
I sometimes find if I eat slightly more carbs then my fasting levels go lower than if I eat just a few carbs. I guess quick up, quick down rather than up slightly, down slightly!! That's how my system seems to work anyway.
When you had your run in the 4's a while back I was running in there too, I'm now running in the 5's with only 2 mornings in the 4's in the last month!! Bizarre isn't it.
My last 3 mornings have been 5.2 and that is after a bowl of homemade muesli for supper at about 9pm...seems to help with the morning levels somehow.
Best wishes.
Angie
