What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.8 - I'm so happy to see 7s again, 4 weeks post op now - so basically that's my recovery time then.

  • 7.3 fasting - too high
  • 6.3 @ 3 ¼ hours - forgot to test

5.8 at 08:30 today.

I slept so well last night that I took a long time to come round this morning! I heard on QI that milk & milk products help you sleep, so I had a little milk with a little cheese for supper. Seems to have worked!

  • 6.1 fasting
  • 6.3 @ 3 hours (having trouble remembering) after exercise

  • 5.9 fasting
  • 7.2 :? @ 2 hours - really don't know why

Edit:
  • 6.1 45 minutes after 2 hour test and 30 mins gentle treadmill - interesting experiment shows the effect exercise has on my levels

4.6 at 07:00 today; then 4.5 at 17:00 after a day on site (one half-skeleton and a pair of feet  ), and 4.6 just now at 23:00.

Quite pleased! :D Even if I am forgetting to watch the time for my 2-hour tests. but I'm back on the diet, so I know nothing will send me too high.

  • 6.1 fasting
  • 7.1 @2 hours after breakfast
I am wondering if, with just a joghurt for breakfast, I am provoking a kind of dawn phenomenon after 2 hours by not eating enough. I have trouble forcing even a joghurt down.

I know what you mean about
forcing it down
, Daisy. I can never eat as soon as I get up. I settle down for an hour on the settee with a cup of coffee, the Radio Times, and a puzzle book (how sad is that? ). This is to give my eyes some fresh air before I put my contact lenses in. I have breakfast then, anything up to 2 hours after getting up.

Even if I'm working occasionally, like I am at the moment, I get up at least 30 mins early to have this quiet cup of coffee. I can't do without it. Then I eat an omelette cooked in butter, which I've not got fed up of yet, and which hardly rasies my BG at all. Even when working and eaten at 07:30, that will last me to 12:30 lunch break.

The sun is shining today :P

Well done VIV those are great numbers. You never know, do you, what use you might be to someone in the future, even if you are only half a skeleton.

We're re-burying him (her?) at a slightly higher level directly above his/her legs, and the feet will go back just next to where we found them (their original sites are going to be soak-aways). The vicar will give a short service for them all once the work is finished.
