What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Was busy at son's yesterday helping to screed the floors of his extension. We didn't get away until around 8pm and by then were really tired and achy from mixing 36 bags of screed. Decided to call into the fish and chip shop on the way home as couldn't be bothered to start cooking. Didn't realise until I was in the shop that it had changed hands and was now a kebab and pizza place, so instead of the fish I was fancying, I ended up having some donner kebab meat and salad. Not something I usually have but it filled the gap. Bloods weren't too happy with the late meal nor the meal content fhough, FBGs were 6.0 this morning. Knew the low numbers wouldn't last.

Today is another day. Keep well. :)

Based on what I have read about reason behind DP, if one is interested in analysing the impact of DP it will actually be a waking test. When we are about to wake up brain sends signal to Liver to giddy up and prepare energy rush hence the dawn phenomena... atleast that's what I understood.
Except for it to be a fasting blood test it has to be done after a period of fasting normally of about 8 hours and this thread is about fasting blood sugars but we all give it a bit of latitude but to be honest if you eat within a few hours of the test then it is not strictly a fasting test I usually have my last meal by 10 pm and then test around 6 am when I wake give or take a bit.

But then does it really matter that much I should suppose not.

I agree ...

it does not and I can say that based on my longer fasting periods... I mean at any given time on my non-eating day any reading I take is a fasting reading and yet I see significant variation from 6 AM to 12PM and then downwards from that point till night and fairly good overnight and up again the following morning all while fasting....

Personally the single reading at same time is quite pointless without a trend analysis which I think is a very helpful to work out what course of action one needs to take around what time... :)

Mine tends to rise until I have eaten not sure if it's to do with the amount of glucose that I have stored in my liver or not .
Yerp I am the same yet sometimes I can not eat till lunch and no relative increase - wierd

6.4 at 6AM after eating day...

Guess body is still recuperating from the mayhem of last week because yesterday for a while it went all the way to 9.2 around 11.30 which has rarely happened in last few months and given all i had eaten was 4 eggs that too after a 4 mile walk.

Ah well, it's fasting day today so should result in better numbers hopefully.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all 6.0 @ 0930hrs after a lie-in. I'm wondering if the tides have finally started to turn on my fbg . Only time will tell . Have a great Sunday everyone . Off to watch my daughter playing a semi final in GAA
