What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

A flat 5 here. Merry Christmas - which doesn't remotely compute with most LC Christmas food or "The Swaps" (just no) - but is the customary greeting. @DEBBIESCOTT big, masked even virtually, hug for the illness. Weird season for illness. My 4 year old granddaughter had Strep A, tonsillitis, chicken pox and pneumonia in a 3 week period. Would have had a 15 hr wait for an ambulance. :arghh:

Morning All. 8.2 after a bit of a crazy food day starting with champagne and rich food way too early in my day to fit in with family commitments. Succombed to one small roastie, serving of bread stuffing and spoon of roasted roots and then instead of afters had a glass of Baileys! Teatime picked at two bits of cheese and through the night needed Gaviscom big time. Today will be very different.
Get well if you need to and stay well ow. Happy Boxing Day.

Hug for needing Gaviscon. The rest is just being human and "doing Christmas" in this dystopian early C21st whatsit show : in thought and word and deed; through negligence, through weakness and through our own deliberate fault?. Good news is T2 forgives such a day but better yet, He who ultimately matters absolutely does. He knows of what we are made - so do we. Your mileage may vary folks but I'mma drink tea and refuse to cast the first stone (St Stephen's Day folks) - almond milk cos no IF today.

Morning all, happy Boxing day. I hope you all had a wonderful day. It was a bad day for me yesterday, I ate a chicken breakfast bap in the morning, and I suffered. I suffered a big fat gluten death, and hell I suffered. What's the little saying, "well, well. well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions". In consequence I blew up like a balloon so only ate a few spoonfuls of an Indian takeout. Where's this going you might ask. It's going to a nasty 12.1 last night and a hateful fasting 8.4 this morning. Today we have our turkey meal, sheesh lol

5.0 This morning which is almost remarkable! Yesterday, had a huge lunch in front of me, but after all that cooking my appetite was not that big, so I just picked at it. Two of the women at the lunch, who are stick thin under 50-55kg, at three times what i ate! Anyway, all washed down with 3 glasses of fizz and similar amount of wine... The trifle! My low carb one did not taste that great, so i dug into a reasonable helping of the real deal and followed up with a glass of port and some cheese. So 5.0 is a great wake up number. I was around 6 two hours after eating.
Stuck on a Libre3 yesterday. It woke me up at 6 am and again at 8 am with low BG alarms! Did a blood test and it was 5.1... so disabled the alarms on that useless thing and will give up with it after this go. This is the third time i have used one of these Libre3's and they have given false lows too many times. I will stick with my blood test strips from now on.

6.3 today. Kept off the Yorkshire puds yesterday including the carrots, stuffing balls, sliced strips & roast potatoes. Will usually have a "bite" but refrained. Just had the usual green veg. Had my sugar free home made custard and cream trifle and was lovely! Just had my work out for 40 mins so will see what the damage is later. Off for a gin and tonic now with sliced lemon and cucumber :playful:

Last night had cold cuts of the Turkey, Ham and sausage stuffing, with a bubble and squeak fried patty made with the left over vegetables, with some homemade Piccalilli, pickled beetroot and shallots, some lettuce and the naughty treat of some Heinz Salad Cream.... 1/2 a beer and some real deal trifle.. Ate more than at Christmas lunch! BG at bedtime was 6.0 ... this morning 5.4, despite 2 alarms in the night on the Freestyle3 saying i had dropped to 3.5 for a few minutes... rubbish... Not switching alarms on again on that thing!!!! I suspect it is yet another dodgy unit. 2 dodgy out of 3 is not a reasonable failure rate, especially as it has taken more than 6 weeks for them to confirm they will replace the first dodgy one.
Today back on the wagon again, apart from a morning treat of a milky coffee! Soup this evening. LOL ...My Doctor messaged me to say he was proud of me that i had not gone crazy over Christmas as expected, and my pre-christmas blood tests were a big improvement on September!
