Good luck for today ...stress might have affected your BG .8.1 seriously?
In a similar situation, I have never daily tested and my GP practice says I have no need to. However my Hb1ac is always around 60 for many years so I have taken it on myself to try and reduce hopefully by daily testing and food monitoring. If I can reduce yearly figure then I hope to get less nagging at my next LTC. Feel let down though at lack of help (except on here) and feel maybe it is a budgetary decision by practice.I don't know what mine is. My GP/Diabetic nurse have stopped my daily testing............told me it was 'only a snapshot' of how it is at that particular moment, so I should only do it once a month! Also they didn't want me to 'hurt my fingers' with daily tests. Interestingly, they took the test strips off my prescription but left the lancets on there. What's the point of that?
Evening @SJ1812 and welcome back to this FBG thread. It's good to see you here again.I don't know what mine is. Evening @ChrisT2.Just the 12.1 this morning after 160g carbs yesterday and light dinner at 1800. More than a little cheesed off, could have stated it much stronger but fear redaction and moderation on here.
Thanks for the advice. I don't understand though why so high 1st AM and last PM even when fasting 2 days with zero carbs or anything else for that matter just prescribed pills. It seems my body is fighting to bring down those end of day highs only to start again at a similar high in the morning. As I said before there seems to be no logic, just frustration.Evening @ChrisT2.
It looks very much as though 160g of carbs daily is too much for your digestive system to handle. Without knowing what foods that 160g consists of, it's hard to advise you further.
I would eat by your meter. Regardless of the starting BG reading, if breakfast, lunch or supper raises your BG more than 2 mmol/L 2 hours later, you'll need to replace the carbs with proteins and healthy fats. By reducing the starches and sugars in your meals, you can bring those results down to a healthy range.
