What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

3.8 libre 4.9 BG. Off to hospital in a bit for pain relief injection inbetween a couple of discs in spine :F
not looking forward to that not too sure what more nervous of the injection or the possible effects it will have on glucose levels corticosteroid antiinflamatory urgh.

to eat and drink as 'normal' at breakfast this time around rather than fast in morning. little confused at that, this will be my 3rd epidural and first since diagnosed. DSN has let me know 'might be harder to control sugars for a good few days' whatever thats supposed to mean.

Morning All 7.5 on meter at 07.30 so much better. Maybe I have broken the spell. Big hug to @grantg for the spine injection and hope it gives you years of pain relief. Take it steady for a few days. @Omar51 you are the most disciplined and consistent diabetic. Hats off to you. Hugs to all who need them.
every 12-16 weeks, the prior couple of times lasted around 3-4 weeks pretty much then slowly back to start, maybe this time it will work better with sugars more controlled now thats my hope anyway. just on route home little quesy otherwise im ok 3.9bg just before was seen currently 9.2 with directly upwards arrow had 2 slice bread 30.4g carbs for lunch an hour ago, 3 units insulin. was informed prob slowly sugars will rise to keep eye on it if goes high +14's for more than couple of hours check keytones if 0.5> to call DSN, just to keep closer eye for around 3-5 days. whatever they give for the first injection (forgot name of it already) would love to have that in my house and shown how to admister it lol. second injection wasn't too bad first jab done its job numbed up ok was so much easier than the last time around!

8.1 libre not bothering with finger prick which i suspect will be a fair bit higher (readings in general been a fair bit lower with libre this time).
I'm putting it down to yesterdays epidural, it has been always slightly going up maybe im needing to increase basal a little bit will see how today goes. breakfast decided on 35g carbs with 4 units insulin. 2wheatabix 26g 1 1/2 plain biscuit 9

Happy birthday to me. Time flies….

4.5! at 7am o_O
Maybe it’s time to stop the Forxiga. I’ll test for another few days and if it remains in the 4s I’ll contact my diabetic nurse for advice. (Well she’s not diabetic obviously but you know what I mean :joyful: )

Belated Happy Birthday @Bcgirl hope you had a lovely day

Take care everyone and have a terrific Thursday x

Morning All 8.2 on meter and 7.5 on Libre. Not as good as yesterday but still hoping. @grantg glad the injection went well. My SIL has a “golden” injection in her spine meant to last up to 5 years but never does. Yours is obs a different situation but wishing you the best. @RosemaryJackson thats great progress do you think the Metformin SR is the cause. @mojo37 I can empathise with those numbers all too well. Belated happy birthday @Bcgirl.
Enjoy the day everyone.
