What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. Up to 8.6 at 7.15 am. :( Mixture of continuing cold symptoms, painful night, stressing about mum and ----maybe that slice of cheesecake I had with lunch for hubbies birthday yesterday might have contributed!:D ( It was only a small slice and I did give the base to hubby!) :angelic:
dogslife and Ymdawd hugs to you both it's awful how thing can change in an instant for us diabetics sometimes we know what's caused it but sometimes we have Know idea why?
But lots of us at this time of year have some kind of virus coming on and it's not apparent until it comes out properly,I've noticed this in the last month with one problem or another, anyway hopefully this phase won't last and you'll both be back to your usual BG readings soon. Good luck and take care of yourselves.K
Thanks Granny_grump. You get better soon too.

Still running high at 7.4 perhaps it's the cold temperatures.Had an extra trip out to pick up a set of tablets missing from my prescription yesterday.Im sure it wasn't the pharmacys fault as they are excellent.Could have been me not giving a clear message when I ordered over the phone to surgery......Ill take the blame, just didn't need that eighteen mile round trip out.Just pronouncing some of the tablet names is fun,I take my hat off to the pharmacists!!

You've just reminded me my prescription was short has well but pharmacist had not got enough tablets so I also need to pick mine up or hubby will, but it's about 1 1/2 mile not eighteen good grief Glenmac that's nearly a marathon! K

Good morning everyone
BG at 6 am today was 6.2
Hope it won't be too long before I can venture outside it's been 2 weeks now and Christmas is nearly upon us I need to still get some presses and food so come what may I need to go out and do some shopping, hubby been good picked up essentials but food shopping for Christmas and pressys no no! Have a good day and Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year!!!K
Sorry you are still feeling ill, bronchitis can be exhausting, with all the coughing.Do take care when you do finally get out.Are you set up for an online shop to save the effort of the big shop for Christmas, that would help with the bulk of the shopping for food.We have it set up in case we fall ill,but havnt used it so far.Hope you feel better soon.

@Glenmac I could do online shopping agree it's useful when your ill and I have done it in the past, but I'm uually well stocked up with2 freezers full and cupboards so hubby only needs essentials to pick up,it's with Christmas food shopping in one of the freezers before I took ill that's causing me problems so I need to do a little more every day shopping until after the festive season. But I'm more fortunate than some with a hubby and in dire emergency my grandson who could get me some food shopping if I needed it. I'm old fashioned though with presents to buy I like to get out their and pick my own and love last minute mingling in the rush up to Christmas but only for the odd thing not the whole Christmas thing.! I'll wrap up warm soon and take the plunge out their in the cold and get what I can done will have too or there will be a lot of things missing from the Christmas table and Christmas present bags this year! K

Good Morning! 6.5 at 0730.
I'm aching all over today. After staying indoors over the last few days due to the bad weather, I had cabin fever and thought I'd go out for a walk yesterday as it was sunny though cold. I slipped on black ice and gashed my head and bruised my hip and arms. :grumpy:
I thought I'd have a black eye today, as the gash was just at side of eye, but that hasn't happened.
Still I suppose I'm lucky not to have broken any bones.

@Prem51 Glad there were no broken bones, you must be feeling quite shaken today.Yes the practice has the on line facility for prescriptions,I must register that with them,I've learnt my lesson from yesterday's debacle. The icy pavements and car parks here make me quite fearful of falling. We have a state of the art new health centre, all singing and dancing with every gadget known to man, but the route from car park to front door was unsalted.........lots of ice,......if only I ruled the world!!!

Temps aren’t any better. -21°c at 6:10am with the wind it feels like -27°c. Not super cold but not very pleasant either.
Hi @Troubled1 Thinking about you and hope your keeping well,so many viruses and illnesses me included in UK at the moment, what's it like in .Canada Bet the bugs are too scared to come out! Haha! We believe the cold weather keeps bugs at bay but we are expecting a big flu rise this year and the news says the flu vaccination we have had is the same has Australia and it's not worked especially for the over 65s so watch this space. Keep in touch it's nice to chat and keep up with what's happening around the world. Take care Kathleen

@Prem51 Hope you ok it's bad come winter did exactly the same last year bringing in the bin at bottom of Drive banged hip elbow and back it shakes you up not to say anything about the bruises, I've had a few slips over years done both knees in but it's how it leaves you, I'm scared when winter comes terrified of falling again it's not pleasant! But has yet not been through door for 2 weeks! K
