Good Morning! 6.5 at 0730.
I'm aching all over today. After staying indoors over the last few days due to the bad weather, I had cabin fever and thought I'd go out for a walk yesterday as it was sunny though cold. I slipped on black ice and gashed my head and bruised my hip and arms. :grumpy:
I thought I'd have a black eye today, as the gash was just at side of eye, but that hasn't happened.
Still I suppose I'm lucky not to have broken any bones.
Ouch, Prem51. Glad you didn't break anything but a fall like that shakes you up and it's the next day when you realise that you have muscles etc that you didn't know about. Last time it happened to me I broke my arm in 4 places and like you gashed my head above my eye. Looked like i'd been in a fight! Keep warm, take pain relief, a relaxing bath if you have one and get plenty of rest. You can get various ointments from the local pharmacy to help with the bruising too. Hope you soon feel better.

Hope your not to badly hurt sometimes effects of a fall affect you a day or so later so take care sending big hugs

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?
This morning my reading was 12.4 which is ok for me, yesterday it was 3.5

@Granny_grump_ so far our household has only dealt with a minor cold. Most of our sickness is brought home from the schools by the kids.
I think the frigid temps exasperate the problem. Nobody wants to be outside so people gather together indoors. Unfortunately the viruses gather and then spread.

Back from a brief break with a 7.3. In which I learned airlines aren't too fussed about flying with meds and meters. Stuck'em in a sandwich bag, and 'Diabetic?', 'Yup', and 'Enjoy your flight'. Mornings seem to be pretty consistently in the 7's so far though.

good afternoon all :)

4.3 this morning @ 07.30am

got up a bit late this morning and been out helping at the same charity as mr gee today (took my own Lidl roll along for a bacon sarni for lunch ;) ) so it's been quite a full day. Won't need a walk tonight, that's for sure. Hope you are all having a good day and are keeping warm.

Hi@Troubled1 Unfortunately for your household kids school and viruses go hand in hand it's a long time since my kids where at school even my grandchildren are all working age, but I still remember very well all the children's illnesses and coughs sore throats etc.and like you said people congregate in warm rooms when it's cold outside which helps the bugs to accumulate. Your fortunate to have got away with minor colds but you seem to be a hardy lot in Canada so hopefully the bugs will pass you by?
We do what we have to do when situations arise so good luck no bugs reside at your home for long, take care, I've been out for an hour or so this afternoon has it will soon be Christmas and things to get food presents etc. First time out in two weeks, I've been so short tempered with my hubby just because I didn't feel upto going out just yet but hadn't got the choice this **** bronchitis is taking its time in letting go of me, but it's so tiring with all the coughing and the cold weather just makes it harder to stop.
Anyway enough of me moaning you'll have enough on your plate with all your own preparations for the Christmas season without any of my complaints to deal with. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Kathleen
