What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Yesterday evening in Birmingham:
Son -“Dad would you like one of these low cal beers, very low in carbs”
Chimp in my head - “OK”
Later
Son - “ would you like another of these low cal beers, very low in carbs”
Chimp in my head - “why is he asking, just give me the beer”

Dreadful night, very hot, not a great deal of sleep.
6.0 this morning on the prickometer.

Had a sort of slippery slope of carbs yesterday- buffet at work ( started off well, cocktail sausages, quiche squares- no crust did not eat base, then lovely little choc case tartlets with creme patisserie and a raspberry on top- only 4.2 gcarbs each but oh dear they were moreish I had about 5 I think. Probably a very slightly higher carb dinner too. Anyway back up to 6.0 this am. I would say I will try to make better choices today but I’m hoping for the seaside and an ice cream today- not sure it will happen. Enjoy the lovely sunshine everybody. X

Watched the football last night with supper on my lap then went to bed early. The lack of an evening walk I suspect helped give me a 6.1 this morning. Still, I'm feeling fresh and its a sunny day, things could be worse. Have a great day if you possibly can....
 
good morning all :)

4.5 today

bit of haar overnight and this morning so it's cooler, glad about that because I find it harder to sleep when it's too hot. The car thermometer said 32'C yesterday when we got back to where it was sat baking in the sunny car park. I enjoy good weather but we're not used to such strong sun and heat generally here.

OK I am now starring in the film The Discombobulation of Ianpspurs - out now in all good cinemas and some frankly execrable ones. Yesterday was spent exercising at a spa leisure complex and eating low carb. Worked a treat on weight - 1.4 pounds lower today - but not on bg 5.5 today which is higher than yesterday and well above trend or what it is when I am functioning properly. I'll let this play out for a day or two incase its a virus/bug BUT here's the thing for others: sometimes you follow the rules/advice for managing this condition and it doesn't work out but long term it will so don't ditch the approach.

Good morning all a lovely start to the summer holidays for me as I’m finished with home tutoring for the summer (I can’t go to school now because after I got my transplant it would be too much for me as I get tired very easily and have anxiety issues) I have an eye appointment today so I’ll probably be getting new glasses sometime next week. BG today is 5.3 enjoy the weekend everyone

I’m glad you can relax now and enjoy the summer, it sounds like you’ve had a really tough time. Did the nurse help re the cramps you said you were getting whenever you eat?
