What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Yesterday I had 2 friends visit. The first I hadn't seen for years. He'd been dx as type 2 , had been told that it was incurable and for life and bla-bla-bla .......... just learn to live with it. ............... I asked him to take his sugar levels in a random way and they were mid 7's . I've pointed him onto this site so if someone comes along and and starts talking about very fast cars do say hello...

..... later in the day another friend came round with a pudding she'd made for me. Now I'm suspicious of puddings. I do the occasional berry with lots of cream or cheese. ...........This was a rhubarb crumble , with the crumble bit made from seeds, coconut and ground almonds and sweetened with Stevia. .............. Deeply suspicious I heated it, tested my sugars and ate. An hour later tested again and another hour tested. No spike! Better still it tasted good. This mornings sugar levels are 5.3. so all in all puddings are possible - as long as they are the right ones..... Have a great day all !

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who crushed the bathroom scales this morning with a weight increase hehehehe.

A gentle 6.6 for me this morning. No complaints from me dead pet fish and shrubbery for dinner last night. Oil rich fish and much later a few extras in the form crisps hehehehe.

Well folks has a good day I am, my tasks are twofold , repair the crushed scales and play with my 2 year old grandson, must go orft to find the catapult. Mrs J will not be pleased hehehehe

I made a blackberry Clafoutis this week...low carb made with almond flour...used a sweetener...it was gorgeous...puddings are entirely possible Orson...and absolutely necessary IMHB

5.1 this morning taken a bit later as got distracted by other stuff!
Hope all have a good Friday - it’s a catch up day for me as family stuff planned to celebrate my birthday on Sunday. I’ve agreed to make my own cake this weekend as no one else wants to take on the low carb baking challenge ! Good job I love baking think I’m going to do the low carb chocolate olive oil cake my fave decorated with lots of whipped double cream and berries....

Morning all 5.4 for me today - best summary of how I feel about this is if it were a young lady I would be OK with mates seeing us together but never gonna take home to meet parents:angelic: @alf_Josiah grandsons seems to be theme this week, @bigjim19 also on duty. @Cumberland (Ian?) happy birthday. @johnpol have a great wedding anniversary and enjoy the meal tonight.
@OrsonKartt and @Bubbsie puding/dessert not high on my list but I enjoy crumble and have access to huge amounts of rhubarb, apples, pear, blackberries and plums. We are working our way through crumble combinations which takes a while as I would probably be interested in eating one about once a month, but all combinations have been spike free/friendly.

What... it's reading like a Monty Python Sketch...it would be funny if it weren't so damaging... rather than 'careful' .could they have said 'avoid'...or would that have been too controversial...honestly I am so enjoying these anecdotes.... absolute pearls of wisdom rhubarb... I hope there's more to come:)

I agree, a DESMOND quote of the day to give us all a laugh in the morning @rhubarb73

I liked the TV programme Desmond's but had never heard of the course until seeing it on here. Being such a patient and tolerant chap I feel I would have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and bonded with the clownshoes delivering it:angelic:

5.8 today, very misty in Cornwall hope it clears later.

Happy Birthday @Cumberland I hope you have a wonderful day.

@OrsonKartt what a lovely friend you have to make you a low carb crumble.

@Bubbsie could you post your clafoutis recipe? I noticed loads of blackberries down the lane yesterday and was going to take the granddaughters to ouck some later.
@Flora123 look up ‘dawn phenomenon’ it happens to everyone to some extent. There are so many confusing and seemingly contrasting aspects to this disease.

Seems to be a bumper year for blackberries all over and they are significantly bigger this year. Also, lots of sloes - has anyone made sloe gin with non sugar sweetener.?

Thanks. I thought dawn phenomenon was early when you wake and not two hours later. So a further two hours on it is now 8.8!!! Not eaten today yet. It was all going so well. Suffering with terrible butterflies/adrenaline surges the past week or so whenever I think of various problems at the moment. Could this be affecting the readings?
