What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. Been catching up on some of the excellent chat on here over the past 48 hours. No plans to cook a roast on holiday but will be heading to something beginning with M to buy something beginning with P or B on my return next week.
That's assuming Mrs R hasn't already gone online and ordered the shopping from something beginning with O.
@DJC3 - great new picture. I'm not sure I'm going to follow the trend of emerging from behind my avatar just yet - I think you would all miss the goldfish too much, and there is nothing funny about my real face (although Mrs R might also disagree with that).
My Monday starts with a quite acceptable 5.8.
@rhubarb73 the P from M is rather good. The B would not fit a LCHF diet - not F enough. Ms steaks are better than joints - buffalo is better if you can get it. My fbg was 5.7 but I now have a cough and did no exercise yesterday - except review supermarkets. Oh, the one starting with A nearest to me suffers by being very close to M and S food but does currently stock Schneider Brot - thanks @Goonergal - which is good. In Cambridge A has the most diverse clientele of all. A is the only one of all I use which has differently abled staff on tills. To end the review, M and S are fine but have a real sense of humour re portion size but have the best ribeye steaks.

Thanks @rhubarb73
Your holiday fbg is good -Have you succumbed to a cream tea yet?
Thank you. I’ve generally been good on the carb front with not many treats. I think it’s a sign that I’m properly converted to the new WOE.
No cream tea for me yet - I find scones a bit hit and miss. If I have a carby treat I want to know it is something I’ll really enjoy. I have my eye on some lemon drizzle cake.

Morning everyone bit of a headache this morning probably not going anywhere my mum hurt her eye on Saturday and she can’t see out of it I think she must have scratched the cornea as she hit herself while ironing my coat didn’t come yesterday so hopefully today it will come BG today is 5.0 not bad at all :)

Personally I would go cream tea but swerve the jam as commercially made jam seems to come from a different planet to proper jam.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, today on this bank holiday we that is all of me's ( 6 personalities at the last psychiatric count ) will nice to all and sundry apart from them there politicians again, nothing against them, shame really they should have a wall against them.
I woke up to a 7.2 after an extremely rich home made Rogon Gosh, 1/2 a man bread and 1/2 a poppadum.
Have a good day folks. I would like to, but Mrs J has plans.....

6.1 after a curry last night which took 3hrs to arrive! There are some definite disadvantages to living in the sticks. We were ravenous by the time it arrived but then great disappointment as it tasted very sweet, don’t know if they’ve got a new chef but I only had a couple of mouthfuls - still had quite a big spike. Will have to stick to making our own.

@karen8967 hope you are ok? Hugs for having to work on a bank hol

@trick60 it’s probably the booze affecting your fbg - it seems the liver is too busy dealing with the alcohol to dump much glucose the morning after.
Looking good DJ

We have been following a stricter lc way of life for a few months now- we had a hospital induced blip recently but back on it now. I’m happy with the new WOL

Morning. all. A bit on the groggy side this morning. I did have 3 glasses of red wine last night and I know they say that no amount of alcohol is good for you but I'd had a very, very, long drive and it seemed an ideal measure at the time. Anyhow my sugars are 6.2

good morning all :)

4.8 today

a bit warmer and drier this morning but that wouldn't be difficult after yesterday's steady rain.

Shed tidying at mum's later today I think, we need to clear some floor space for log stacking. Perhaps it will be good for my waistline measurement ;)

Managed a good walk with the dog yesterday during a lighter rain spell. Suzie came back joyous but mucky!
(Suzie is mum's little dog - she lives with mum but we share the feeding and do the main walking, bathing and claw clipping so she's ours too).

Enjoy your Bank Hol. Monday :)

6.2 today, it's not a reflection of the extremely low carb day I had yesterday so I'm blaming the weekend in Dublin and my auntie force feeding me a whole slice of white batch bread (thick and gorgeous!).

Have a great Bank Holiday folks, we are away until Thursday, booked a little lodge for some r and r. That said, daughter and grandaughter (toddler) joining us, I may need to book another holiday on my return!!

Hope you feel better soon @OrsonKartt. Re safe level of alcohol, the best analysis of that came from a Dr who said there is also no safe level of driving, flying or come to that living. In each case I have found that the higher the dose, so to speak, the greater the risk of death. Anyhow, them's my onions:angelic:

Some risks eg alcohol are worth taking. Any way that's what me and my pal Jack D think.
