What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

@ianpspurs glad the weather has turned around, mid 20s v good. Perplexing FB result for you but you havent been quite well in recent days.
I am blaming my malaise on pork scratchings (first and defo last time for them). They are just fat and were a push too far for me on an empty stomach. Then I made matters worse by having my eggs with a slice of toast. But...who dosnt crave toast after upset tum. Lesson learnt. Have a good day in this fine weather.
PS. I have been thinking of adding 2 teasp ground ginger and 1 teasp allspice maybe grating of nutmeg to vary the flaxseed rolls. 1 g carbs per teasp but divided between 6 rolls ok I think. Will let you know.
Let me know how the flaxseed rolls go @PenguinMum. The fbg number is really just so much noise on days like this. Sleep pattern and resting pulse both good so bg will be fine in the real world. Weather here has been good for a few days and set to stay that way. Interestingly, Pork scratchings/crackilng have no impact on my bg but bad for weight for a day or 3. Take care

@ziggy_w thank you. Its the first time I have had high readings while unwell and I knew it would happen sometime but I have never EVER had a 10 before. Every day is still a school day! Like the sound of a glass (or 2) of red wine now its autumn but not this weekend lol.

@PenguinMum do you have a link to that photo you referred to in an earlier post please?

Sorry Ian no idea how to do that but it was posted by Rachox on pg 891 of What have you eaten today thread.

Thanks for that just found it. Fascinating, is there an all male one anywhere? Thanks for all the hugs re fbg but not needed - don't know what real level was but certainly nowhere near that.

Yeah, I can empathize.

Sometimes, after strenuous exercise my blood sugar rises way higher than I like. To be honest, it really unnerves me.

So, I really know where you are coming from. Regardless, I am certain there won't be any damage from a one-time off-reading of 10.

5.5 for me this morning. I tried unfiltered apple cider vinegar last night to see if it has any effect on me, going to try it for a week.

The weather here is cooler and I took a walk outside last evening instead of the usual indoor exercise with DVD. My fitness level has improved some, I found myself looking forward to the walk and enjoying it. We moved here about 2 years ago and I explored some streets in the neighbourhood I've never been down before,
Hi @Chronicle_Cat ACV is great not sure how you are taking it but I have 8oz ish of water, 2 tbl spoons of ACV and 1 tbl spoon lemon juice. One in morning and one approx. 1 hour before bed. Its best to drink through a straw as AVC can have an effect on the enamel of your teeth. If you just drink it from a glass, rinse your mouth out with fresh water after drinking. I'm sure you with soon see the benefits.

Morning...up later than usual...sun is out...coffee is out.. I shall be out later...more coffee dans le jardin ...if that isn't right I blame my old French teacher Ms.Kelly who had such a broad Belfast accent I had great difficulty understanding her...except of course when she said 'Fermez la porte sur vous sortie' :angelic:...I knew that one off by heart...it was said often;)...woke to a 5.8

Its one number PM...one day...not terribly significant on your overall management...in isolation it won't do you any harm...my BGs went up in the extreme heat...when I had an infection...we never know what will upset 'IT'...often there's no rhyme or reason...it is all a very steep learning curve (I just love a good cliché...carb free;))...look after yourself.

Morning all. Very sunny and warm here so Autumn can wait a little longer. Birmingham event sounds as though it started well which must have pleased you @Debandez after all your hard work. @Goacher55 Boots and socks in September, really? 3 years at Uni with the professional Yorkies telling everyone how tough you all are and then you come up with this:banghead:
What chance my bg being way out of range on September 1st 2016 and 2018 - 6.3 - (which is as high as any 2 hr reading in last year)? Just fuels my distrust of accuracy of testing.
@PenguinMum please take care of yourself - I've seen where caring for others, without properly looking after oneself can lead, and it was not nice.

On the motorway heading home. It's been an amazing experience. Still digesting everything and smiling from ear to ear.

DCUK already talking about doing another as it has been so successful. See you there :)
@Debandez cant wait to hear all about it. Pour yourself a glass of wine when you get in for a job well done! Congrats to all the other members too who made this happen, too many to mention. I have decided this is defo the friendly side of the forum. X

Yes I am thanks. Had a PJs day today which doesnt happen very often. Will DCUK be doing a report on the forum do you think?
They have plans to. Not sure how long it will take though. I know for sure our recipe and inspirational stories booklets and blood sugar leaflet are going to be linked to their DCUK social media sites :-)
