What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning all. After high fasting levels yesterday, I cut back on food yesterday and this helped a bit. Blood sugars were 5.0 today.

@Goacher55 -- Enjoy your vacation. Hope it will be lots of fun.
@ianpspurs -- You seem to be going through a bad spell right now. A big hug from me. You seem a bit disillusioned with this WOE and this makes it hard to stay motivated. Would it help if you changed things around a bit to make your life a bit more enjoyable?

@ziggy_w Oh, I'm plenty motivated, possibly too much and that may well turn out to be the problem. Not so bothered about enjoyable, just want winning. Not tongue in cheek absolutely genuine. I will take most things for winning/achieving. Comes from playing plenty of sport - just win then worry about method. Enjoyment is for wimps but very grateful for hugs and concern.

This is interesting. Will take this and ponder. Personally I feel a bit in limbo currently and trying to focus.
I’ve had a momentous few months getting from 9s to 6s, from 67 to 40 Hba1c, and dropping 18kg.
But it feels like diminishing returns from here. Which makes it harder to stay focused.
So I’m looking at core strength and sleeping as next targets. It’s gone midnight when I’m typing this which is helping neither objective.
That's the spirit. Phenomenal weight drop and A1C. The returns in percentage terms will get smaller, but the potential health benefits are significant, as you go past diabetes.

@ianpspurs your competitive and perfectionist instincts have you fighting with yourself and thats not good for anything let alone the devious blood sugars. If you were reading your posts as my posts you would be telling me I’m doing great. Agree the lack of sleep is a problem and needs fixing. Dont know what to suggest but I’m sure there must be things to try. You would defo be the General I’d want leading my army.

PS. You could count sheep or eat 2 clementines and sleep the sweet sleep of guilty pleasure. Have you tried a nightcap?
The night cap idea has some merits - except I am certain it often raises resting heart rate which I studiously monitor:arghh: The over competitive, perfectionist idea has cropped up from time to time in relation to someone I don't recognise. I definitely don't own any mugs saying wining isn't everything but losing isn't anything.:angelic:

6.0 today reflecting a late night take away. Chinese! Picked what I thought would be my best option. Chicken stir fry. 2 hours after up from 5.1 to 7.0. Within range but it went up to 7.2 after 2 hours 30. Then back down. Didn't eat til about 8pm. Long day yesterday and could not be bothered cooking.

This morning I wasn't particularly hungry but don't want to lose weight. Maintaining is proving harder than losing. So had 2 slices of bacon and scrambled eggs cooked with double cream, cheese and butter. It went down well with my coffee and cream.

Looking forward to another take away tonight! It's a very safe one and ultra low carb and completely my favourite meal of the week. It's been my weekly treat since starting this woe last December. Chicken kebab with a little donor. Chili sauce with garlic mayo. No pitta bread. Just in a tray. Great start to the weekend.

Happy Friday folks.

Awesome takeaways in your area - ours only give free calendars yours give blood as well:angelic:

8.2 this morning. Not overly bothered about it but am pulling in my horns today. Bright and sunny here in London and I am spending a lot of time in the kitchen today experimenting with cauliflower 'cous cous', cumin, chicken and a slow cooker. Practising melodeon too so I can be useful to my morris side despite being a bit crocked! Hope everyone is having a good day.

Kebab shops are brilliant for low carbing. I often have a large doner without the pitta. Fantastic! I hope you enjoy your dinner tonight.

Ianpspurs. I'm still at the start but have had my bumps in the road. I don't do targets. Law of diminishing returns gets us all.
This is the kind of thing that livens my day.

Had the grill on this morning for bfast. So, flash of stupidity/inspiration 3 thick slices of corned beef topped with cheese and tomato chucked under the grill with some Worcester sauce for a nice cold lunch.

The looks I got from the diet queen's in the office as they ate their 'healthier" sandwiches/rivita nasties looking down their noses at all the fat I was consuming was priceless.

Was lean corned beef (0 carb) and in the last 12 months I have lost more weight that the lot of them.
