What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

The HbA1c prediction for me on Mysgr app has steadily progressed from 34 a few weeks ago and now is at 41 still normal but the trend is going in the wrong direction I am not to happy with that.

Just tested - fasted for 12-13 hrs - meter wants me to believe a 7. Somewhere along the line something is very wrong - meter, strips, body, diet or all of them. I can eat Panettone and be surprised at that level. Only silver lining is I am not type 1 so no need for insulin corrections.

I imagine if you have 2 photos of you, one before diagnosis and one now, you would see you've aimed high and have achieved. Tuck your T-shirt in:joyful:

We win @JohnEGreen my little madam BG too at 5.7 but it's strange
5.7 at 2am
5.7 at 7.30am
5.7 at 12.45
Think the meter might be broken, never known such stability!!

It happens on occasion there were a couple of times I thought my meter was stuck also but it wasn't. If it does stick you want it to be at 4.9 or something.:)

Sending hugs for your frustrations! I’m ready to throw my meter up the wall and that’s only after a few days of annoying readings!
@Emma_369 and @ianpspurs I too would gladly throw my meter at the wall but without it, I'd be injecting insulin in the dark. A bit like driving with no headlights and no map

Not too good 8.8 today. I ate a lot of white bread and too much rice. Where I travelled to for the past one week, i couldn't get wheat bread so had to do with high carb food

I dont think wheat bread is any better though

Can't tuck it in I'm a porker. (It's a base layer as I'm always cold.) I knew I would lose weight on this system but it is sold as a means of dealing with bg, Anyhow, I hope you had/are having a good time with the pancakes and the exotic things those Dutch folks enjoy with them.

I'm another who's not thrilled with my blood glucose level this morning. For the past 2 weeks, I've been under 5.5 (my personal target is 4.5 to 5.4) This morning was 5.9

I think I know what was responsible. For dinner last dinner I had homemade Chicken Tikka Masala, shritaki rice and Ginger Peanut Slaw. While preparing the slaw, I ate some extra peanuts.

I got some halloumi cheese from my local grocer the other day but haven't tried it yet. (I hadn't seen it before in the local grocery - Canada)

I've been hearing about it a lot on various low carb groups and apparently it has become suddenly popular worldwide. Now the Chinese have discovered it and the farmers in Cyprus are struggling to keep up with the demand.

Hahaha @ianpspurs if you're a porker I'm a cumberland, all round and blobby in parts. Back in Oxford now, den der Nedderlanders were magic, not a single pancake or bad biscuit or anything odd more's the pity but copious quantities of Jenever and cheese. It was freezing and my base layer only just managed to keep the chill out. Yours looks fine, tuck it in!

Not tucking in. Spent 36 years telling kids to tuck shirts in and do ties up. I doubt you are a Cumberland and anyhow Mr JB? loves ya just the way you are.

Ian dont know if you are following the thread “Is Keto diet harmful.” but well known member @Boo1979 recently posted that <20g carbs daily raises his/her BG whereas 30-50g daily ticks the box nicely. Just thought it was interesting!

What are halloumi chips? I had never heard of them before this thread and I keep meaning to go Google them ...

Banoffie pie I do know, because someone was eating it in Love Actually. And within a year or two of seeing that I had met a lovely big banoffie-colored horse named Banoffie.

You’re getting a lot of recipes. I wrap my sliced halloumi in streaky bacon fry them at a high temperature until crispy - fry in lard as that doesn’t burn at high temperatures. Delicious.
