What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

BG 5.2 this morning after a meal with friends last night.. Lots of nibbles which i am sure were carb laden, some potato and parsnip mash with the chicken, a cheeseboard, a few small chocolates, a few glasses of wine and a scotch. I was careful on all of it and went to bed with a BG of 5.0.

Those are really good numbers (!) considering you consumed a robust selection of carby goodies there. Something's working well!

You did really well with your FBG after all that food last night shows great control of your blood sugars .

Glucose 4.3 and ketones 2.9 at 6.30 am.

Had a relatively carby day yesterday, with flaxbread 16 grams total carbs (8 net) and a couple of Tbsp black beans in my salad. Also some chocolate. It was 85% (vegemite tasting) chocolate though....can;t have been more than a few carbs. ;)
Ketones have come down but glucose stayed about the same. I'll try a bit more carbohydrate today and see what happens.

4.8 on waking.. Had a highish spike during the night??? Previous day, had skipped all meals apart from a soup for dinner and a square of 90% chocolate.
Breakfast.. Skipped it.
Lunch... Skipped it
Dinner ... Blanquette de veau, steamed cauliflower (more or less no carbs apart from a few bits of carrot in the blanquette). Greek yogurt, raspberries, blueberries, chopped nuts, grated 90% chocolate and a sprinkle of sugar substitute. Espresso coffee.
BG before dinner was 4.1... 2 hours after 4.9.... By the way, that dinner was delicious, didn't even miss the mash or rice!
My ketones are doing nothing according to the rubbish pee sticks! Nothing yesterday either.

Bloods 5.8 this morning. Little bit of stress going on as we were travelling down to son's today for grandson's and DILs birthdays. Always dislike the journey but it was even worse today. A 6-hour journey ended up taking over 8 hrs because of just about constant rain and very poor visibility. The added stress of the Journey offered up a blood result of 7.2 even before supper. Didn't even check what my post prandial levels were, too busy reading my 4 year old grand-daughter bedtime stories. I know where the important priorities lie. ;)

Morning all... Well that was a weird night!!!
BG between 94 (5.2) and 90 (5) at bedtime …then dropped fast to 69 (3.8), alarm level on Libre3 and stayed at that level for 4 hours 68-71 (3.9) …. I ate ½ a chocolate hobknob to raise level, but it did nothing at all!......Stayed flatish for 4 hours and then jumped up when I woke at 06.00 to 89 (5.0)

Woke at 06.00…. showered then did tests. Libre3 87(4.8)…Vivachek 6.0… That is a 2.6 or 1.2 discrepancy!
Really want to lose weight at the moment so 20 hour fasting, but last 2 weeks only lost 1.5kg. I have a once a year foody extravaganza this weekend, so banking lots of low carb levels! Seeing a specialist this afternoon, so will find out what I am doing right and doing wrong.
