What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Now my meter says HI or 31.
So confused and don't know what to do

Well, if you’re in UK, you’ve been invited to call 111, this is excellent advice, especially as you’ve come off Insulin.

Please keep us informed - Estragon. ;)

6.6 not so happy with that. It was 5.5 before bed. I only eat twice a day and no snacks. Around lunch time and again normally about 5pm. Really restrict carbs now. I used to able to eat about 50 - 100g and have a HbA1c in the 30's. Now I have to go a lot lower and HbA1c in 40's, last was 42.

6.8 this morning awake since 4am mulling life over so probably lower than 6.8 but didn't test until 8:30am when I did surface. Have a whopper of bruise on my leg and pulled back after a fall yesterday, all done whilst reaching to shut curtains whilst standing on a wood ottoman! Why have I become so accident prone again. Was only like this as a kid!

Good morning all, this morning another FBG of 5.4, which is fine for me and I’m not complaining
The Thai massage for my achy back muscles did wonders, and I was zenned out for the rest of the day.

The session with the GP was less satisfying, the recent HbA1c was 41, which he said was into non-diabetic levels but obviously on medication. He said the Feb test was 45, but I don’t think that can be right because that is below the diagnostic trigger of 48 or 6.5% and the nurse told me it was borderline & only just on 48. Either way, its only come down marginally over the six months. He said the cholesterol levels were ‘perfect’ but didn’t give me any figures. The trouble is in 10 mins there is a limit to what I can ask.

What is it with these doctors and not giving the patient the precise information about their condition? Are they worried we’ll look it up and question them? I cannot access the numbers because here we don’t have automatic access to the records and I would need to do a specific subject access request for the data. And in other respects the medical practice is a good one, in my experience.

I guess I’m just disappointed it wasn’t lower, although the morning FBG are consistent with that kind of A1c.

5.4 at 7:45. I had taken half a nytol at 2am as I couldn’t sleep and was really restless and of course because I took it in the middle of the night I’m still cream crackered and would like to go back to bed but dogs need walking in an hour!
Have a Good Friday everyone

Take the win for lower A1c and move on is my advice but what do I know, what do I know?
