What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

So here’s a funny thing

Yesterday I prepared a slow cooked leg of lamb . Put leg and three chopped onions with chopped celery and tin of chopped tomatoes and smashed a few mushrooms in a slow cooker . Set on slow for a few hours . Met up with folks in pub for supper of lambs liver and two glasses of wine followed by coffee. Came home around ten and was asleep by eleven

At 0ne AM woke up. Bing ! Wide awake. Read all the online press , still not tired. Went downstairs made some tea and was tempted to a plate of the lamb. By this time it was 3 am.

I don’t recall the last time in my life I’ve had a post midnight meal. It was a long long time ago.

This mornings ( 8am) glucose reading : five point seven

It would appear, for me at least, a skinny tall so and so, that the timing of my food is not that critical .

No guesses as to what’s for lunch.

Mid to high sevens all week. Thought I would try fresh egg pasta to see if it would be lower than dry pasta, had lasagne, all home made. 2 hours later 11.4 . I'm just going to have to accept that pasta is going to be an occasional treat a few times a year. Also have a huge amount of Ragu alla Bolognese left over

Contour reading of six this morning

It’s blue skied and ffffffrosty here today

Coffee first then a big steak and egg breakfast before I feed everybody sandwiches and the like at my wife’s memorial this afternoon

I was going to low carb cater myself but got talked out of it and frankly that may have required more energy than available

Have a good day all

Morning All 8.2. Put a Libre on to see whats happening. Yesterday ate very low carb, lunch 3 egg mayo with chopped Little Gem. Supper at 6 was two crispy roasted chicken legs with thighs. Bedtime at 9 was 5.5 on Libre. Woke at 5.30 to 7.2 to find BG started rising steadily from midnight. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi - as a skinny ( bmi eighteen), so and so , ive had issues like this by under eating. For me I’d up the fat content , swapping chicken for steak and eating more eggs . I often do six or more eggs per day. I’d make sure my mayo didn’t have seed oils in it. There’s a couple of brands in Tesco which have only advocado oil.

Or it could be just a freaky monitor you’re using ?

Good luck in all events
