What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.8 today. Both Dexcom and finger prick. Had a weird spike (minor) last night after having half a protein bar (1net carb). I don’t think I handle fake sugar well. In Canada we don’t label for net carb, but total carbs…and I reacted to that higher number. To get the net carbs I subtracted the fibre and the sugar alcohols….
Hot today…and so windy that our patio umbrella took flight and with it our glass top table. It didn’t end well and we spent the afternoon, in 30 degree heat, cleaning millions of tiny glass cubes and shards from our deck, stairs, patio, lawn, dog bath…..

5.5libre just about to grab something to eat. Weather looks good today at the moment. Was nice yesterday morning got a little windy. Bloods got done took forever been refreshing mydiabetesmyway to see results only 1 result has been updated

Creatinine (umol/L)
20/01/2025 12:56 59.0
07/07/2025 10:09 69.0

Not sure why others haven't. Sis had bloods done yesterday same hospital and same lab that processes all hers were updated within hours.

I got sent away to pop back shortly as was 'too early'. When back had to wait around 20 mins after appt time. took around hour from when seen before managed nurse fetched another to hold arm in place. Not happy that half of that time was spent trying to get me to lay in position which I wasn't comfortable with. Flat on back arm dropped down. I wanted to lay on side with arm behind.

Found out a little info on honeymoon period apparently when it ends it can be like a light switch. I had presumed slowly less and less insulin production til none so that's a bit of a shock. They can't give any suggestions how to extend or anything else.

Morning All FBG yesterday was 8.0 and today was 8.1. @grantg I really hope you get a good result for your A1c after all the trauma of the blood letting. @mojo37 have you seen the cute little shower/bath mats (to step out on) with puffins on at Next Homeware? I thought of you yesterday but didn’t buy one, not yet.
Its always a challenge this carb business and was interested in @OrsonKartt comment about the effect of that pudding would have been lesser years ago. Take care everyone.

woudn't mind so much if they just took after passing out with hyperventalating. to get put through that several times in quick sucession is not good practice imo. they say need consent and can't give if unconcious sheesh they had consent to try and do even if out for the count really doesnt make sense to me why not just do get out of the way especially when consented prior. What they do if someone in coma... obviously they cant consent ... And just do anyhow. Thanks for the luck the nurse needs it more than me.

Currently at hospital told to pop back in a bit as too early
Hi how did you get on yesterday. Hope it was not to stressful.

After that pudding my glucose levels remained high for nearly three days. They only dropped after two glasses of wine and one small whisky with supper

When I was first diagnosed ten years ago a short walk would bring glucose levels down. Now any activity takes glucose levels up.

Tomorrow I see an endo.

This mornings libre reading is seven

4.4 this morning. I am trying very hard this week to eat sensibly.........I am due to have a phone call with the hospital DN tomorrow who wants me to go on to Insulin ,,,,,,,,,,,,don't know how long I can keep this up, but my average for the past 7 days is 5.4, which I'm incredibly happy with
