Your Freestyle Libre Order is on it’s Way….

…… only I haven’t ordered one! Has anyone else received an email this evening saying an order is on the way, only you haven’t ordered anything. It addresses me by my name and has my correct customer number on it and appears to be from a genuine Abbott address, but I’m suspicious it’s a phishing email. I haven’t clicked on any links, I’ll just see if an anonymous donor has decided to treat me!
Just thought I’d mention it here as I smell a rat!
 
Or it could've been a mail merge that went wrong and said email ahs been sent to a number of people when it shouldnt have been :) - but yeah time will tell

I would wait and see to see if you get a freebie from Abbott before deleting it.

I have not had any of those "invoices" for a while as Gmail is pretty good at weeding them out.

All I have got lately is becoming a billionaire by buying bitcoin, Elon Musk is doing well from buying them apparently. :meh:
 
Abbott seem to have an issue with email timing. I quite often get the email saying my order is on its way some time after it’s already been delivered!

That would be very late, I haven’t ordered a Libre since June!

Well, look at it this way, if it is from Abbott, and you don't receive a sensor, you can email them and express your disappointment at not receiving a free sensor, and they might send you one anyway....
 
Yes, I had an email like that last night and I haven’t ordered one.

if you hover over any of the links and check the address shown at the bottom left of your screen is it an Abbott address that you would trust?

Yes it’s from the same Abbott email address I’ve had with my ‘real’ orders.
 
Can you log on to your Abbott account and review your orders?
I know you can do this with other vendors like Amazon.
 
It is possible that there could have been data breach, or ‘brushing scam’.

@Rachox In Australia, Australia Post have a free app called AusPost, that you can put the parcel tracking number in if it is coming via them.

Does your British Post ( I do not know the name) have some thing similar to track parcels? It's a good way of checking if it's a scam or not as well.

Yes Royal Mail does have a tracking app but I have no tracking number!

Thanks for the info, I will have to remember the name.

It will be a waiting game here I think, don't click any links on the email just in case it's a phishing expedition.
