Type 1 - Daily carbs

Yep, I also have a rare carb feast... Only icecream though.. Can tolerate lactose in it for 1 single meal out but everything else for puddings tends to have copious qtys of wheat and gluten so have to limit. Be blowed for one meal out occasionally with friends if I'm going to go without a pud!!

Evening all, just wondering how many carbs you eat on an average day?
Depends on what is going on in the day and how active I am ... the more active I am the more carbs I take in the less active the fewer I take in .. so I take in on average between 150 to 300 grams of carbs in a given day (and its all most plants, such as beans, carrots, lettuce, lentils, tofu, and the like - not from Bread, Pasta, Rice, Potatoes or junk food).

200-230g usually. Seems like a lot having read this. Might look into bringing it down...

Do what suits you @catapillar One size doesn't fit all :)

I tend to look at my HbA1C first of all, and then consider weight, wellbeing, etc. I don't think there's a 'magic number' for carb intake, and I think we can all tolerate different amounts of carbs. We all do what we think is best for ourselves :)

Yes, and I think BG is a better guide than A1c actually (provided you're catching the 1-hr spikes).
