Type 2 Life

@tina_marie is @eldergarth going to mention his hypos at gp appointment tomorrow? I think gps dont change meds until 3 nonth worth of change. He has had these hypos a while. Is it more than 3 months and his excellent hba1c will back him up.
I hope tomorrow's appointment goes better than latest ones. Gp will listen.
 
hi gang , well ron had a very restless night . He woke at 2 in pain and was up for work at 5. Vicky he use to like pork scratchings but just lately has gone of them in fact there seems to be quite a lot of things hes gone off. He use to have fruit ,yogurt and nuts with cream for breakfast but hasn't had them for a few weeks now . Now and again he will have a cooked breakfast mainly at weekends or scrambled eggs. At the minute hes giving those belvita biscuits a go. He seems to like them . As for his meds at the last review he was taken off gliclazide and had his metformin upped from two to four a day. Two at breakfast two at tea time , me personally I think that's to many I forgot to ask why it was upped. If ron can get an appointment tomorrow I will be bringing this up with the doctor. No Vicky was told by the x ray department they are taking about 6 weeks to get results so while I was there yesterday I kicked off big time thought I was going to get thrown out . When ron phoned them on Monday they were suppose to be chasing it up but found out yesterday nobody had done a thing. At this rate by the time we get results he will be in a wheelchair. The thing that is worrying me at the moment is his balance, several times last night I had to grab hold of him. Well today is a fresh day so hope things will be different . Have a good day all and thanks for being so supportive, I really appreciate all the feed back from each and everyone of you. Will keep you posted about what happens.

He has been taking extra breaks at work . The hypo happened at 12.30 his lunch break was at 1. He came home tonight starving hungry and is now in bed as it has taken its toll. He hasn't been very steady on his feet either tonight. I hope it is a one off. Hes taking Friday off and seeing gp.

Hi you say your husband. ' came home starving hungry'. If he's so hungry his sugars probably dropped, this usualy causes a hypo, is it possible he could carry few nuts, piece cheese, some scratchings or somethink to snack on In between meals, this is what I do, When I'm out I always carry somethink incase of emergency, even he could carry some jelly babies or glucose tablets incase he feels hypo coming on, is he eating sufficient at meal times, wish you luck

It was the hypo that made him feel hungry even though he had his lunch afterwards and extra rations as he calls it . He munches through out the day. He also feels very tired afterwards to .

One day last week I ate my breakfast and one hour later I went into hypo, so I quickly had jelly baby then ate a little protein/ carb, this was very unusual but I've been under a lot of stress recently & bit more active, don't worry, cos stress can make it worse, it obviously is worrying you, rightly so, try to see your doctor or nurse & explain what's happening they are the best people to help you, it will get sorted, but it's your doctor that can help & advise you, is it possible to ring surgery. & talk to, hopefully it will sort itself out. Tomorrow's gp appointment might been to be accompanied by a list on your pad and write down gps answer.
If x-ray lost another one needs ordering by gp.
On your list mention deteriation even on excellent bgs.
Might be worthwhile making a thread to ask posters if sugar in blood can caise damage even when bgs are low. How long does high sugars linger in system causing damage?
If I knew I would be able to tell you.
On insulin and low bgs im losing weight but high sugars are giving me complications. I feel change in my toes and an orifice.
If @eldergarth having any high sugars?
 
@tina_marie @eldergarth Really don't think Ron should be going to work like that especially as you said he'd been taken off light duties against doctors orders. I believe pain like he is in can make bgs soar in some cases but plummet in others.
Take care Ron and get that Doc to sign you off completely

they have been moving him around on different jobs so he says. I just wish the x rays would hurry up. When I went to the hospital yesterday there were other people who still hadn't got there x rays either. What they do is send the x ray to Nottingham then back to kingsmill hospital then to gp.

How ridiculous is that. I thought xrays were sent electronically to all concerned these days. My hip xrays were all on computer. Sounds like there's a holdup where they are analysed. Wonder if you could chase Nottingham, where presumably the diagnostic dept is? It often helps if you threaten to make official complaint....pity it's not the hospital where @Cumberland works....not that they aren't snowed under from what he's said....might have known somebody that knows somebody that could gee things up....

im always telling him to take it easy. Plus ive already made a complaint and put feed back on kingsmills web site. Waiting for there reply.

@Sable_Jan was excellent is suggesting gp signs you off tomorrow. Just until things settle down. You can get about but not as strenuous as working. At an easier paste for a few weeks until nhs help properly.
If this gets silly call a private hospital for a private neurologist's Secretary who can take your gp referral to action 2-3 appointments. Oh and an x-ray.
Cost would be about £400 but you'd get your diagnosis. Thendrop back to gp for nhs referral to take any further treatment further. You've waited long enough.
That's what I would do. Goodluck mate.

Had my bloods done a few days ago and phoned the GP to get the results (he agreed to reduce my Glic if my levels went down to 60)

I was only thinking about that when I phoned, but receptionist said I was to make an appt as my bloods were abnormal and there was a note about possibly going on Thyroxin .... seems it might just be my thyroid is stopping me for losing weight! Roll on next Wednesday.
 
Got up twice during last night to wee and I've got the burning back after I have finished. Took a specimen of Urine to my GP Surgery to be sent to the Hospital today. Had a word with the Surgery Diabetic Nurse about my fasting blood sugars and she said they are always below 9 and so I have not to worry - not that I am. :)

I know it's a weird photo to take but I first saw this feather on the path at teatime and the droplets are still standing there. Just shows what good weather protection the birds have (even tho I guess this is "inside out")
 
@liam1955 lots of water, cranberry juice and the cystitis stuff again. Has gp extended your course of antibiotics? Can be a b*gger to shift sometimes :(

The problem is Kingsmill and Queens / City hospital are not on the same system so they are not connected so every thing has to be sent physically. by post or courier.

Sorry I have been corrected the imaging can be exported and imported but the hold up is that the radiological report cannot and it is quite often the case that the department at Kingsmill can often be waiting weeks for the reports from radiological department.

That's such a pain and obviously causes all sorts of problems and delays. Thanks for the info John
