Type 2 Life

That's my problem Vicky I have to keep stopping for a breather and my body wants to go left all the time even if there's a wall in the way

I know I haven't got your problems Ron but I feel like I have lost my support on the right side so my left is leaning into my right-side. I think my problem has been coming on for months. I used to do school run fine. Then pain-free with left weakness, now pain in pelvis and now in my back. Infact I avoid school run as much as possible as narrow path with buggies to hurdle first and when I twist to move aside it kicks my back off even more. :(

I know that my old surgery was bad, but my other half who also has diabetes, stayed there.

He has not seen a doctor this last 6 months - despite having been put on iron tablets in January - he has not been able to see a doctor because the surgery would not make appts in advance, etc. etc. etc. ...

Anyway - he got a letter from the diabetic nurse to which includes blood tests, - and basically, a letter which stated that if he did not attend an appt - there would be a note added to his file which states he does not want further help .....

Surgery trying to get people NOT to attend? Save money? Talk about lack of interest - I was totally disgusted. No wonder he has no interest or motivation trying to help himself - his own surgery does not want to know either ....

I'm afraid Vicky that sounds very similar to me with me it's numbness on my left side with pain on the 1_10 scale is 16 in my lower spine and 11 in my pelvis and that's with pain killers
I did have another seizure last night but I think this is being brought on from stress and strain trying to get benefits sorted as well as my health

There are thousands who dont use their gp. I think they are so overwelmed with ill patients they are concentrating on them. If your partner doesn't say "Here I am, I'm ill too" they don't want to know.
Im lucky that my modern gp saw my partner's illness and took it seriously. But he was dangerously ill and a large, loud man so was noticeably ill. Quiet, gentile men/women could be neglected.

Yep - my guy is one of the quiet ones. I made his appt for him at a time I can go with him ...

I just think its awful that a surgery can so easily write-off people with diabetes ....

Citizens advice have a tel no. for someone to help you fill it in but when mr ickihun needed it they were all booked up. He failed his pip assessment but only needs chaperone due to his illness. Able bodied.
I might see how you get on. Inflammation in diabetes is being investigated by researchers. X More common than you think.

I'm not holding any hopes with the pips but no harm in trying got appointment with doc today see about getting my letter for my esa claim and to get my treatment transferred to qmc .
But if things continue as is then we are looking at selling up and looking for bungalow as getting harder getting up the stairs every night

We rent one as cheaper on bills than a house and I like a garden for young kids. I lived in flats in London but not ideal for kids. More families needing bungalows now. My neighbour is anti-children but 4 more families have moved into this part of sleepy Sunderland. Families need affordable homes too.

That's very true Vicky what's a community with out kids out playing I know they get on our nerves with the I wants and I needs but we would be lost without them

Morning. FBG 6.9 mmol/l. Weather's fine outside so far. Not much appetite this morning and not did insulin yet. I now feel up to going out on my own but no driving for a while (still weak and not thinking 100%). I fancy a trip to Glasgow on the train to treat myself and get some fresh air. Mood wise I'm not so bad and ready to get back into the swing of things soon.

Might have light breakfast at 9.30am. :)

Just be kind to yourself mr. Dont rush things. Take plenty of rests. How long is that train ride then? I love train travel. I used to work for a london train co. only miss the free travel and odd diamond of staff. 2 passed away recently, they were little jewels. Sadly missed. The good ones always are. I have some fantastic memories because of them. I was nicknamed 'the wanderer' in the 70s. I still have wanderlust. The more natural and unpolished the better for me. Historic romantic.

It's a 45 minute journey with few stops if I get the express, it's the best way to get to and shop in Glasgow City Centre. No parking and you can do park and ride. I've been in bed too much lately, went to bed for a nap at 4pm yesterday and slept right on to 5.30am. :)

Thanks hun. Putting my birthday on hold till next year. Lol Thanks for the birthday song. Ron's in the kitchen setting smoke alarm off . Lol
