What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Bit late posting today. Either my blood sugars have taken a sudden turn for the better or my latest pot of strips (same batch as have been using for a couple of months) is reading low - 3 days and barely even a 5 in sight. All 4s and even a couple of 3s. Let’s see if it lasts.

Fasting day today.

Breakfast - none
Lunch - none
Dinner - chicken leg with cauliflower cheese. I think this is my favourite meal of the moment. Dessert was chocolate chia pudding with a bit of cream.

Tues
B- last of my Paleo mix with M&S coconut cream +choc sauce!!
L- (cafe by sea!)vegi breakfast minus the toast which I have to Hubby!
D-(pub by sea!) smoked mackerel salad
Treat off my dad for us all!

2x camomile tea and 1x berry infusion tea

Work yesterday so had to take b&l.

Dinner .......... salmon oven baked on a bed of spinach and a red pesto and cheese topping with cabbage and green beans and a small rosti, washed down with a lovely shiraz cabernet :).

Tuesday.... one of those days when 'life' got in the way - so food didn't go quite to plan but I managed to stay within the 800 ND calorie limit

Breakfast: Black decaff coffee

Lunch: Black decaff coffee

Dinner: Toasted Lidl protein roll with melted cheese and baked beans, 50g Apro Chocolate and Hazelnut icecream

Drinks: Mainly sparkling mineral water

Well my intermittent fasting that started with an unintentional 24 hr fast on 23 September , that then became intentional 24 hr fasts (with a few 18 hr ones thrown in) continues.
Bed was 4.8 last night followed by FBG 5.6. The worst DP could throw at me with No breakfast continuing was 6.9 and 3 hrs later I was back at 4.6.
On the 24 hr days I've had a look and I'm eating around 1000 calories (or less on the MFP thinks I'm anorexic days) and carbs are mostly 20g or less. What I have noticed is I'm not hungry. I hit this point late afternoon where I need to drink something but otherwise I feel fine. I've also noticed that effort (be it exercise or heavy housework) raises the BG in the absence of food but only to around 5.6/5.8. Used to be a lot worse.
BGs seem pretty stable (touch wood) and the figs I quote on here are from my meter. Yes I use a Libre but it tends to measure under so I still do checks (especially with Libre flashing red low glucose warnings at me when it isn't). So , for now I'm going to stick with this
B. Nothing just water
L. Marigold Swiss bouillon and water
D. More leftovers - a fishy salad tonight, prawns , fresh anchovies, squid, lettuce, tomato, 1/2 avocado, bit cornish cove , boiled egg and Helmanns.
Couldn't eat all of last night's salad and still felt full at bedtime.

B: just coffeesubstitute
L: mozarella and beef tomato with olives and a sprinkle of chili oil :hungry:
D: will be some pork ribs done in the Instant Pot with low carb rhubarb barbecue sauce, green salad and some green beans.

Mr B went to Sainsbury's earlier today, and came back burdened with 70% choc (Montezuma) and Gu miniature (they really are tiny!) mousse pots. Bad man! Apparently the mice have a layer of caramel in the bottom, but I figure if I leave that and just eat the mouse, it should be in the region of 10 g carbs per pud. They are labelled as 15g carbs including the caramel.

Hello

B - nothing
L - 1/2 buttered protein roll, 1 boiled egg, small slice frittata and small pkt salted nuts
D diet doctor club chicken with tender stem cauliflower and broccoli. Fingers crossed carb eaters enjoy this one.

Have a nice evening all xx

Milky coffee
B: Chia pudding mixed with SF banana milkshake mix then some scrambled eggs
Came home from work at 11am cos I wasn't feeling well so all I've had since then is some NAS digestive biscuits and 2 cups of tea.

Tuesday ...

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and xylitol.

Lunch: Leftovers -- a zucchini-onion-potato fiber fritter with a topping made of beef, bellpepper, onion, tomato and cheese.

Dinner: Two glasses of red wine, a plate of various low-carb starters including olives, some French high-fat runny cheese, hummus, pecan nuts, cornichons, half an avocado, half a low-carb roll with butter.

Wednesday
Breakfast - Coffee with milk
Mid morning - 8 pistachios
Lunch - small Falafel (4 KM power walk)
Dinner - not sure yet
Total number of carbs for the day so far approximately 40 grams
BG Levels - have tested myself 4 times today so far - BG high was 10 (2 hours after eating falafel) and BG low was 6.8.

I guess we all have different standards with diet and BG control - but in light of the many years I've been living with Type 1 - I'm pretty satisfied with those levels today - (this is in light that I'm just getting over a chest cold that seems to be going around the office)

Fun and Games - LOL

Wednesday....

Breakfast: Black decaff coffee

Lunch: Black decaff coffee

Dinner: Bigos - someone on this forum said they'd made it and I googled it. It turned out to be a very easy to make, satisfyiing and totally scrumptious stew - this is the recipe I used http://www.hairybikers.com/recipes/view/bigos-stew#dKhjVk0hT9Iqk1YF.97 I made it with mutton that I had lurking at the bottom of my biggest freezer.

I also had (for dessert) 50g Alpro Chocolate and Hazelnut ice cream

Drinks (apart from the aforementioned coffee) was sparkling mineral water

A rare day in which I consumed 3 meals - my blood sugars are still staying low (have seen a number of 3s pre meal) and I seem to be more hungry.

Breakfast - pack of Awfully Posh pork crackling

Lunch - picked up from M&S during an all day meeting. Santini tomato side salad with corned beef - unfortunately they only had extra lean corned beef!

Dinner - small ribeye steak, tender stem broccoli and some Hema 85% chocolate
