I wrote on this forum a few days back. My symptoms are getting worse and am losing more weight. When laying in bed I feel like my muscle mass in disappearing, muscles moving themselves. I feel bad after eating. I only eat protein and fats, removed almost all carbs.

I called up a doctor I know back in my country and she was horrified hearing the GTT result of 13.8. She was relieved to know that my fasting glucose and hba1c is normal. she said it is likely autoimmune type 1 and I will get rapidly worse if endo is not getting to see me.

How can I cope with this? I told my GP to immediately refer me to endo and he seemed receptive but how long will it take? My pancreas could die in the meantime and I go into coma or something ...

Please advice me on what to do, how to get to specialist asap because stuff is getting worse every day. Yesterday, I could not walk 500 m without getting out of breathe completely. My pulse was 150 and I was having an almost heart attack.

Hi,
The only other way to get urgent treatment is to go to your local walk in centre or A&E at your nearest hospital.
If you cannot get there, you can phone for an ambulance or the NHS helpline.

Best wishes

I already did multiple times. The blood sugar is always normal, the tests show nothing and yet I feel terrible, my heart is pounding after 500m walk on even surface, my weight is declining. My body has random spasms all over where muscles move themselves. It is very present today, have not noticed that until now. My weight dropped 3 kg in a week. Is it only when people are almost dying of high blood sugar that one gets priority? .. :\

Your problem may have nothing to do with blood sugar levels. Can you get different tests done?

My GTT was too high. I am going to beg the endo to do antibodies, c-peptide and whatever is necessary. My doctor thinks I am fine but sends me to urgent appointment for an endo anyway. I have no idea how long "urgent" needs to be on wait.

The doctor said that even if you are fasting, or eating no carbs, or anything like that, she could eat half a cake, and blood sugar is not supposed to go over 8.5. My result is appearantly abnormal.

I am not challenging that, i am suggesting that the medical people also check other things to make sure nothing else is also going on.

People that can't listen to other people's opinions.
People that can't say sorry.
I think that you are over stressing yourself and need to calm your emotions down around diabetes..
From previous posts and time involved andthe levels when tested. ... well, personally I find it unlikely that you would be a T1 or T2 diabetic....

I think you need to get this resolved to give youna way forward but currently I think youcould do better to relax you mind and muscles and body when you say that you feel "my muscle mass is disappeeaing, muscles moving themselves".... these are not symptoms of diabetes....

You have also changed your nutrition, so it could well be a change in your body to these changes and enaure that you are having adequate vitamins and minerals rather than removing all carbs.
Life does not revolve totally around carbs.. but balancing all vitamins and minerals...

I lost 4 kg since September. It was 71 with shoes on, now it is 67kg. Fortunately, got an appointment with endo tomorrow and my glucose meter came in today to observe what is happening ...

you say your bloods are normal. then why do you think your diabetic. start eating normal healthy food. you will lose a load on a zero carb diet but you dont need it. your gtt is telling you that your heading for trouble. so its very likely your body is eating its own muscle to survive. your starving yourself to death. please stop.

Just got a meter. 4.7 before food. Ate some protein and fat. Spiked to 5.8 and feel bad. Is it bad? Crashed to 5.0 just now.

Hi. There are rarer forms of diabetes and you may want to look at the forums covering Reactive Hyperglycaemia and MODY?

When after eating were you 5.8?
When after that were you 5?
Timings matter.

The rise to 5.8 was not a spike. It was a rise. Spikes are higher than that. The crash to 5 was not a crash. Meter inaccuracies mean you may have been much the same as they are allowed a plus or minus 15% margin of error. Those are perfectly normal levels.

4.7 - no meal
5.8 - 20 mins
6.0 - 40 mins
6.4 - 60 mins

What food exactly did you eat and drink, and what were you doing in those 60 minutes. Any other readings after an hour? What time was your drop to 5?

Chicken breast around 24g of protein. Cheese 20g protein, almost zero carbs. Water. Laying in bed reading this forum. 5.7 currently 1.5 hrs after meal. 5.0 was around 30 mins after meal.

Normal levels. No spikes and no crashes. Stress about the testing and reading the forum could explain the rise. Protein can cause a rise, but as it doesn't digest very quickly it is unlikely to show in that time span. It takes a few hours.

Just a couple of spoons of peanut butter and it triggered panic, anxiety, high heart rate and headache. What the heck is that ? ...

Peanut allergy??

Or stress??

Until you get tested for why you have these panic attacks, we can't diagnose you.
Those numbers are very similar to mine when I eat very low carb without the symptoms.
People also have panic attacks and anxiety, without being a blood or food condition.

There is a couple of conditions that resemble Hypoglycaemia but do not have the actual low blood levels.
They do have the similar symptoms you describe.

And do you know if your insulin levels have been tested?

Best wishes

It is a panic attack - none of the readings you have posted are at all indicative of diabetes.

The sudden severe weight loss should be looked into.

I was able to control my numbers until one day, literally overnight they popped up and never came down. But it could be something completely different. The only way to know is to rule it out with GAD and C peptide tests

Do some deep breathing and try to relax. Anxiety won’t fix anything.
