What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

My husband is an employee of Carillion and the stress of the last few days has sent me runni g to food today. Kept it all low carb but pinched a Birds eye chicken nugget off my daughter. I think I'll just go to bed out the way.
Pistachios mid morning. Cottage cheese and far too many seed crackers lunch time then a Lidl low GI roll dipped in a bit of soup when I got in. Salmon and stuffed mushroom later.

9.30 corned beef and 2fried eggs
17.00 steak with garlic butter, half a tomato, and half a mushroom. 5 chips

May be time for another Veg Test. Mañana.
Good luck with veg test I’m noticing more and more that I don’t like the impact on my gut of the ‘more gassy’ veg don’t remember this problem before went lCHF!

Take care and be very kind to yourself - it must be very difficult for the whole family. How about making some low carb treats if you’re up for baking? May help to have some things, that feel naughty but aren’t ,around which is what I did at Christmas to keep me away from high carb stuff - a low carb cake or biscuits?

I think we often become more aware when we switch to a different way of eating. So we notice things more. They may have been present for years, but the change means they become intermittent, or change on some way.

For me, the absence of virtually any carbs at all (by eating meat only) has resulted in slimmer ankles, wrists and fingers, more energy which is consistently available from dawn til midnight, significantly different bathroom visits, a change in drinking habits and a change in how hunger manifests. I have never been flatulent, but (like any one) i have the odd event. Until now. They simply don’t happen any more. Unless i eat veg. And at the moment, following that tummy bug, they hurt!
It has been fascinating.

I made low carb pistaccio cookies yesterday in anticipation of a need for comfort. Truvia and almond flour forgot I had a couple of those with coffee this aft.
Must remember its even more important to look after yourself in times of stress. At least I haven't gone the chippy

Stuck to 18/6 today despite hunger caused, I think by the cold weather.
Lunch chicken leg leftover dipped in low carb chilli sauce with 1oz of walnuts
Tea 30g bean fettuccine with a pork goulash avoiding veg today as insides a bit upset by yesterday’s generous cabbage portion. Love this fake pasta and don’t need much - edited just done 2 hour bg and had only gone up 0.1 from 5.3 to 5.4 love this ‘pasta’
Plus coffee and cream to keep me warm. Took our adult autistic son out for a walk as he was set on going ( I care for him) and it was freezing but he wanted to see the ducks. Must admit they are very funny about 100 ducks race out of the river to get bird food ! Simple pleasures hey made me laugh and I had a flask of hot coffee with cream.

Well done you but also remember there is no doubt that stress raises bg levels that’s what I find anyway as a carer on the difficult days you need to be prepared and accept this can happen and if it does it will only be temporary. Take care

I’m sure you’re right I did put a lot of my digestive disorders down to stress of caring and also to Metformin. stress is still an issue but despite stress today I don’t seem to be have probs in absence of the gassy veg. Maybe I should consider a break from certain veg. Thank you for your advice much appreciated

Bed 4.8 FBG 5.3. Still really cold. Awoke to a winter wonderland so had to put my Yaktrax on my boots for the first time in years so I could walk (ice/snow and a crutch don't go well together).
B. Still on the DD no bread breakfast sandwich and Tassimo Americano Grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing
D. A bit liver , tablespoon of peas and a slice of bacon.

Far less hungry today and feeling virtuous as my inner debate ‘gym or no gym’ resulted in a gym visit. Said gym is conveniently located near Waitrose so went there on the way home to pick up a pack of the bargain 97% pork sausages that Bulkbiker posted about yesterday - 12 for £2.50.

So no breakfast.

Lunch - with my best work buddy who is off to New Zealand for 3 weeks. Nando’s. Plain chicken leg with salad and mayonnaise.

Dinner - rest of the cold lamb from the weekend, Lidl protein roll with butter. Raspberries and cream.

Then a sneaky 2 squares Lindt 90% on returning from the gym.

Good morning all.

Wednesday ...

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and xylitol.

Lunch: Nothing.

Snacks: Two Babybel cheeses, about 7 macadamias and about 3 squares of 85% chocolate.

Dinner: A wiener sausages, half a low-carb roll with liver pate, a large plate of cornsalad with Caesar's dressing and parmesan, 150g of Greek yoghurt with hot blackberries and xylitol.

Before bed: A small piece of Basque cheese and four thin slices of beef salami.

Bed last night on 4.8 FBG amazingly was 4.3.
B. No I didn't have my favourite breakfast - I had black coffee with a dash of cream and that was it.
L. Late afternoon had a small avocado and prawns that required eating.
D. Hubby had been busy with the home made soup again. There has to be about 15 different veggies in his latest concoction and he used a whole chicken for his stock. Bowl of that with a slice of Hovis low carb seeded you don't want anything else!

Hi all IF 18/6 again today producing some results - one more pound off and bgs all in 4s today
Lunch mushroom and cheese omelette
Dinner celeriac mash shepherds pie followed by sugar free jelly and cream
Coffee and cream of course!

Hi all.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - a bit late after a very hectic morning at work. Went into a meeting at 9 and didn’t come up for air until 2pm, by which time BG was 3.8. Bag of pork crunch and small bar Coop 85% chocolate.

Dinner - kippers with butter followed by chocolate chia pudding with cream and a visit to the gym.

Well done on the 3.8 I’ve not had a 3 yet! Amazing

Thanks. I’ve had a few of them now - regular intermittent fasting seems to have done it.

Determined to have a spell of one meal a day starting tomorrow - have just been looking at my meals from a period in October where I managed it for 2 weeks straight. Want to get about another stone off and hope that will kick start it.

Hi I did a month of one meal a day quite early on in October / November and it brought mine down to the 5s from the 6s I think that that method is very effective but not sure I could do it for a long period of time again. Also I only want to lose another half stone max .ive being doing it two days a week until this weeks change to 18/6 - maybe I should have a go at alternate days next week. Good luck whatever route you take.
