What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@DJC3 I am loving the 1st world problem of selecting which G and T glasses to use:angelic: On another note, I am feeling like I am sploshing around having had 5 pints of tea since about 7.30. In a previous incarnation 5 pints in 4 hrs after cricket, rugby, football or training would have been lightweight and seen me branded as some kind of healthy living freak to be avoided at all costs.:wideyed:

There was someone on the radio this morning extolling the virtues of cold brew tea, she said it was perfect for the hot weather. Have you tried it?I’ve only heard of cold brew coffee.

Rumour has it that the old Fen boys used to take cold tea and a leather strap into the fields on days such as this. Soak the strap and suck it while hoeing - those fields were massive. Not exactly cold brew but only idea I have heard of. Mrs P has a penchant for iced tea. Welsh people born in the London Borough of Fulham are a strange breed:angelic:

Wow @DJC3 I somehow imagined you as a foodie with all the tools and trappings. Chopping is easy just cut into circles and remove edges. I have added the making of this to Mrs Ps appraisal targets and she believes the spiralizer I kindly provided her one wedding anniversary or Christmas :angelic:would work ( well, you have to look after the staff)
Nice idea, I love celeriac remoulade but chopping/ grating celeriac is too much of a fag ( I haven’t got a food processor) cauli and broc are much easier.
I just slice off pieces of celeriac and remove the outer edges as I go, much easier than trying to peel it or cut.

Haha I did have one but sent it down to Cornwall for my daughter to use, along with my Nespresso coffee machine and my favourite G&T glasses. I am regretting all 3 now.
I am trying to avoid buying more gadgets as the kitchen there is small and I am aiming for a simpler life ( won’t happen but that is my plan atm)
You gave away a Nespresso! :wideyed:
You can go off people you know! ;)

Well not really gave it away, it’s down there waiting for us to move down - she’s more of a caretaker. ( I think I made that clear to her)
I’ve sent off for some reusable coffee pods that fit a Nespresso - then you just fill them with your favourite coffee. They are coming from USA though and seem to be taking forever, so I can’t recommend them yet. Must chase them up

Phew that’s a relief! :)

Hope good low carb day had by all.
Productive day for our family I’m using this break from paid work to help support autistic eldest adult son (aged 42) in spending more time living semi independently in his supported accommodation - it’s sometimes easier to have him at home because we have to respond to every crisis by travelling over to help sort but trying to get a bit more help in place so he can spend more time learning to live more independently! Our birthdays are looming and are a reminder that we need to future proof things...... could be depressing but I see it as practical and potentially better for our health too. My 87 year old mum is coming down on Sunday for two weeks so going to trial new arrangements then crossing fingers. Think will be whizzing around more but hopin it’s temporary. Back to topic
Breakfast one fried egg on LC bread
Lunch mackerel in olive oil and LC crispbreads followed by choc olive oil cake and yoghurt
Dinner sea bass in lemon butter on bed of celeriac mash followed by sf jelly and yoghurt
Also car passed its MOT today much to our relief!

@DJC3 Just occurred to me that the French remoulade type salad with celeriac would be an amazing carrier for these veggies. Our boys loved this and may have been known to fight each other for last tub.
Can't usually stand the woman but swap the sugar and this Mary Berry recipe works pour moi

Thanks for this Ian I may well use this but mix in with some cabbage to make a low carb coleslaw for when mum down. I tend to avoid carrots these days but think this would add a similar texture. Will let you know how it works out

@shelley262 sounds like a good day and very busy schedule. Baby P arrived safe and well at around 14.00 hrs and weighed 8 Lbs 4 Oz (exactly double my birth weight) Mother and baby doing well atm. 9.55 Flaxseed and inulin mix,; 3 strawberries (monsters); Fage 5%; 2 more pints tea
12.40 Iced Tassimo Grande with cream

:woot::woot::woot:
Gap between Ices coffee dinner was time spent delivering building supplies to no 3 son's new house

Congratulations grandad and enjoy meeting her tomorrow lovely news

Yesterday out to pub with family.
Chicken liver starter, which i spread incredibly thickly on about 1/4 of the GF bread that came with it.
Steak main, and because they realised i was GF they refused to serve me chips, cos apparently they are floured. So they insisted on mash. Veg was passed to Mr B.
Ye gods, it must be 3 years since i ate mash. And it was creamed with cheese and butter. Heavenly. Managed to stop myself by passing 3/4 of it over to other family members. If it had stayed on my plate, I would have carried on til I was licking the glaze.

Today was a lump of mature cheddar for lunch and baked salmon this evening. I know there are berries in the fridge too. Am torn between loving the idea of berries and cream, and NOT loving the idea of a 5 hr drive with a rumbling gut.
Decisions. Decisions.

Heading home tomorrow, so back to proper control of my food again. And an end to all these lovely indulgences. Haha!

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: tuna melts left from last night with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: peanut phd bar and SF squash.
Dinner: cauliflower and brocolli cheeses with peas and small amount of sweetcorn followed by Breyers HP choc ice.

Hope good low carb day had by all.
