What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

does anybody else feel slightly guilty that they don't get to bed as early as @karen8967 and @Cumberland :-)
Going to blow the candle out at a decent time tonight. Goodnight folks - another weekend passes with undue haste.
I watch tele in bed till my eyes are closing then just flick it off and im away

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who survived last night's Dr Who.

A delicate 7.6 awaited me this morning, a par for the course reading for me.

Well folks I am being left unsupervised for the whole day, my mates chaos and mayhem are hiding round the corner as I type waiting for Mrs J to go out, then it's playtime hehehehe
Lookout world here we come..

It peed down Cumberland but I enjoyed the walk...no one else in the park...I didn't have to comb my hair (just pretend it got messed up in the rain)...and it's a great time to think & put things in perspective...hope you have a better night tonight.

Glad you enjoyed your walk @Bubbsie

good morning all :)

4.1 today

The sun is out again today :)

fbg average seems to be up a bit this time of year (as it was last year), though it has settled a bit now, my weight has also climbed a little over the last few weeks, I'll have to keep an eye on that :(

Had a good walk yesterday with mum's little dog :)

Have a good day everyone :)

5.5 this morning and my cold is back. I’m never ill!! Get diagnosed diabetic and seem to have not been well since :banghead: Total coincidence I know, but does feel like my immune system has decided to use it as a perfect excuse to become a wimp!!
I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the impact of LC and continually taking readings - stress - on well being. Personally, I would say over the 3 years I have been doing this I have been sub optimal/unspecific virus like 25-33% of the time. Resting HR data seems to support this. I just take it as a side effect. Hopefully I am not typical but it may be a useful perspective for some.

Yes that makes sense. Guess I hadn’t really considered the LC being a possible cause - but it’s a massive change to what I usually eat, and finding myself unintentionally fasting (with the exception of tea/coffee) quite often as have very little appetite most of the time so it probably is a big shock to the system. Well I’m crossing fingers that it’s temporary and I’ll adjust. But if I’m destined to be under the weather more often it just means you lovely people have to hear me keep moaning about it ;)

I did that last night I usually read for a few hours at bed time but ‘ just another chapter’ ends up being a lot more chapters and I fall asleep eventually last night I fell asleep around midnight , I woke up at 6:30 feeling great with good blood readings too.. it’s a miracle.. I’m a medical marvel, go to sleep earliar, wake up not tired and bloods ok.. I bet this could catch on.. if only others knew about it

what are you reading? any good?

I start my week with a 6.3.
I've decided that having lost a stack of weight and got my Hba1c down, and got back running again properly I need a new point of focus for a while.
So my new objectives between now and Christmas are improving my sleep and my core strength.
Sleep will require a bit of discipline. Core strength - I'm open to recommendations on what has worked for others. I'm not looking to body - build, just strengthen up a bit. Maybe try some yoga or pilates?

I’d recommend Pilates for core strength - I find it particularly good for tightening up my middle and really love it. I do a weekly class but also practice a few of the core exercises regularly.
For sleep I’d recommend a mindfulness app I use Headspace once or twice a day and find it very helpful. You may need to experiment a bit to get what works for you but you can do a free trial of Headspace and then cancel if it’s not your thing. Once you’ve learnt the basics he’s got a load of targeted sleep related meditation and sounds to help soothe you off or back to sleep! I’m yawning just talking about it on this grey day!

You may not be under the weather at all or even anywhere near as much as I seem to have been. Other members seem to thrive. Either way, feel free to moan if moaning on here is what it takes to help follow a lifestyle which keeps diabetes well controlled. :)
