What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Apparently, I'm rocking a 5.5 and sneezes. Feels like a day for lots of logs in the woodburner and plenty of tea and another go at perfecting LC hot chocolate - the special machine makes it really velvety but not exactly hot. Not exactly one of the circles of hell more like all seasonal joy has fallen down the back of the sofa. Have stonkingly good days y'all but play nice.

Good morning all
I’m your twin this am @Goonergal - 5.0 - good luck with new sofa
@Geoffno6 well done on your hbaca1 score it’s all going the right direction - shame about the dp but it can take a while.
@ianpspurs hope your sneezes don’t develop stay warm
Hope everyone has a good day I’m just getting sorted to go off up m42 and M1 to York’s this am. At least the rain is predicted to stop eventually and it’s not snowing badly like it was a year ago I remember. We tried to take a family guest out to visit another family member and couldn’t get out of our drive exactly a year ago!

Good morning everyone. My last day on the dreaded prednisolone. A 9.2 this morning, drat, drat, and double drat.
A bit high but nothing to be afraid of.

Off to My alma mata, Durham, today for a wander round. It’s how I got the name Dunelm; the post-nominal abbreviation for Dunelmensis (Latin: of Durham), indicating a degree awarded by the University of Durham.

Etymology is fascinating, isn't it? I took a course at university 25 years ago and was hooked. It's so interesting to see where words come from and how they are related.

Also, I'm in Canada and just east of me in southern Ontario we have Durham Region. It's always interesting to me every time I get reminded just how many of our cities/towns/regions are named after UK places.

Good morning all.

@Goonergal and @DJC3 -- Wow, you are early risers on a Sunday. Hope you get a bit of rest during the day today.
@ianpspurs -- Hope the sneezes won't turn into a cold. Please, take care of yourself and try to take it easy today. Keeping my fingers crossed.
@dunelm -- Wonderful that you are done with your course of steroids. Must be frustrating to see your blood sugars rise due to medication.
@Ziggy2017 -- Hugs for the cold. Hope you feel better soon.
@Geoffno6 -- Great improvement on your HbA1c. You've already accomplished so much. Hope your next number is even going to be lower.

Fasting blood sugars were 4.7 today.

Have a great Sunday, all.

A hug for the 9.2 but I think a congratulatory star for coming of the dreadful prednisolone must admit I wish I could dispense with it.

Morning everyone not feeling great today I think I have a cold or something but then again that’s to be expected this time of year especially since I have a weakened immune system sugar today is 4.7 enjoy the rest of your weekend
know the feeling well Ziggy2017 was put on Imuran to try and reduce prednisolone but being on two Immunosuppressants my Leukocytes are now at 0.2 so have had to stop the Imuran for now.

Good morning All. I have only just recovered after the worst ferry crossing on the Irish sea overnight Thurs/Fri. Terrifying when the ship hit a wave loud bang like it hit a brick wall then slid back and then everything shuddered and rocked side to side. This was every wave. Felt like I was on the Titanic. 35 years doing this and defo the worst ever. OH still has vertigo from it and guess what we do it all again tonight!
Didnt dare test Fri morning I was too traumatised. Sat 5.9 and this morning 6.2. Not bad because my brother has been feeding us well and a lot of alcohol involved!
Have a great Sunday everone. Stay well, safe and hypo free.
Hope I survive to post tomorrow

Could this be the start of something?
Yesterday I drank mulled wine, ate fried sprats with bread and butter and this morning Madam stormed in at 4.9!!
Really, only just heard of the fried sprats and mulled wine diet - I'm amazed. Where have you been?:angelic:

The food and wine might be the next new trend. The wine was from the Christmas market in Broad St, Oxford and the sprats from the Kings Arms. A fun day. Today I'm off to a nibbling event which will almost certainly mean eating things I shouldn't but after yesterday I just might.

good morning all :)

4.1 today

Christmas tree wrangling today ;) plus a walk with the little dog perhaps. Mum has a visitor coming tomorrow just for an overnight stay so we shall be festooning things with tinsel and lights later :)

Pudding of the day is a try out of a Christmas flavourish LC cake thing with Greek style yoghurt, it smells pretty good but I don't think there is enough spice in it.

Hope your weekend is going well :)

Morning all, well what with visitations of grand kids and their parents I found myself this morning so exhausted that I wandered / staggered off on my mornings walk without testing. After a very small but intense expresso I have 6.2 . Time for breakfast now. Have a great day all
