What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning everyone,
Feeling better, awoke to 3.9.

It is cold here -18c (-4F).
The snow has continued since yesterday afternoon and all night. It is still snowing (although supposed to stop within the hour) so lots more shovelling. I'll be driving across the city to see my mom today but the salting trucks and plows will have been out all night on the highways so it shouldn't be too bad. Hopefully they will plow my street shortly so I can get out (they plow residential streets last.) I've checked the city's real time snow plow map, they've done about 1/2 of the streets but don't see a plow nearby yet. :( Update: Snow plow is outside now, just heard it. :)

This is our weather today...

I lost another 2.2 lbs (1 kg) this week. So total weight loss so far is 81.59 lbs (36.7 kg) or 5 stone 11. My next small goals are a 6 stone loss (84 lbs) and 30% of original weight loss. My next big goal is 100 lb loss (45.3 kg) and getting my BMI down to the "overweight" category (under 30).

4.9 this morning.
John, in October 2017 you reported an HBA1c of 35 and soon thereafter you were involved in a discussion concerning how T2D could be effectively "resolved" for travel insurance purposes.

Have you managed to remain in the normal blood sugar range (numbers please if you have 'em) and did you attempt to get your own T2D officially resolved?

Sorry to be a pain in the proverbial but I am attempting to emulate the likes of yourself and am therefore truly interested in your progress.

It didn’t seem that way as they had the glass bottle of vodka and then the pump machine. The bar also said they only serve doubles and we had to get manager approval for singles..... it was lol very odd!
What is the world coming to, can't imagine they have any right to tell you what you can and can't have, also I never have diet coke from a pump as I've been given full fat on numerous occasions.

It was such an odd bar.... needless to say we didn’t stay long! I thought the whole point of the sugar tax was to make it more expensive to drink full fat drinks... so I’m unsure why this place offered full fat as standard? I always use my tester to test the drinks before I have them to avoid any potential issues....

Coffee is my only vice. I’d drink it all day long if I could. Double cream, sprinkles of organic cinnamon and cocoa powder on top. Yummy scrummy in my tummy.

BRB. Second cup inbound :hungry:

Ooh not tried cinnamon on coffee - daughter has it in tea sometimes as a poor man’s chai type drink.

6.9 Sunday morning.
"The wild and windy night that the rain washed away" has left me feeling a lot less foggy-headed than I felt yesterday. I think I will skip the fluoxetine this morning and see how I feel. It's one thing to not be anxious; it's another to feel lazy and apathetic all the time. I don't know yet if the slightly sick/dizzy feelings are due to hunger or to the anti-anxiety drug.

I was going to recommend trying a different bar next time. :) I never heard of "full fat" in relation to bar drinks before. Coffee and hot chocolate at a coffee bar, maybe, but otherwise only maybe in a White Russian (is that what you ordered?). Was the bar using "full fat" to refer to the sugar in the regular Coke? IME "full fat" refers only to meat and dairy. So I'm curious! :)

Now THAT is what I call "full fat"! And yummy. I like cinnamon in my coffee, and eating dark chocolate with it.

The gin was excellent DJC...but I was restrained I only had three;)...as for the smarties they now come in a 'paper' tube without the plastic button cap I remember from my youth...fortunately they tasted just the same...sweeties & gin now consigned back to the side lines...only three months until my next review:banghead:

Impressive restraint there!
The Smarties caps used to have a letter stamped on the underside, we used to try to collect all the letters in our name ( or to try to spell rude words)

5.0 this morning - after a bit of a Sunday lie in its so cold so have gone back in the warm whilst our coffee is bubbling. Like you @DJC3 im addicted to my filter machine nothing like the smell of coffee for me. Talking of which should move soon as I’m out for a walk and coffee with friends in a bit!
Have a good Sunday all stay warm.

So glad you recommended it, you’re right that the smell of coffee is half the pleasure.

It's probably called full fat because it has so much sugar it will turn into fat if you drink too much.

You know there is a historical precedent for revolting against sugar tax. Right? ;)

i think @philchap1 is right, @SaskiaKC
..but i would also says that's something many will say where there is a DIET version of a drink ..
which i guess is as close to the truthful name as 'normal' 'non diet'...etc...:D

(edited..my bad)

Wow, I just discovered why it feels so cold in here despite two cups of coffee. It's not usually 1 degree outside this late in the morning (10:35). I just put my nice cuddly flannel shirt on. :)

Let's look at the old score board. It's a winning 5.1!

Lots of exercise today up and down ladders. Painting. Walls and skirting boards. At it all day and I have to say it's like a new pin. You can't beat white high gloss! Just washed my hands and wiped all the surplus paint off my arms.....and face! It gets everywhere when I get hold of a paint brush! Lethal weapon :-)
