What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I like it that you know what you like and you're not afraid to say it! You do realise I'm going to have to restrain myself from saying "hit the spot" at any given opportunity now! ;)
Go ahead - I will find you and .... :angelic: I really, really, really want the flaxseed bread to work. The video made it look easy and the ingredients are just water and ground flaxseed which is surely clean (ish) eating. Trouble is all the youtube comments suggest about 60% of people have the same problem - beautiful crust but soggy middle whatever they do. Does turn into good crispbread if you can cut it and dry it out. Amazing croutons.
Sorry about your husband - I also have white coat syndrome - hate doctors but ok with blood pressure at home. Hope he gets it sorted asap

Evening all. @BibaBee what a scary night for you and Mr B I do hope he can get his meds sorted, if that’s what’s causing it, and it seems likely.
Lunch was a flaxseed roll ( Helmsey&Helmsey recipe and my favourite bread recipe - even if I was suddenly given the ok to eat normal bread again I would still choose these) topped with cream cheese ans smoked salmon. Some Callebaut chocolate afterwards ( @Emma_369 I’m envious of your HC stash I need to make another trip there)
Dinner was roast chicken, green salad avocado and hemp seed hearts with olive oil/ acv dressing. Greek yogurt, a strawberry and few pumpkin seeds afterwards.

You are right, we do need to check. The problem is that he has serious white coat syndrome. We even have issues monitoring at home. We had an incident a few months ago at the eye hospital when they checked and it was through the roof due to anxiety. Ever since, he's had an aversion to checking.
So probably he’s measuring much higher than he is. How about a fitness band that measures bp on a regular basis. I’ve got quite a cheap one and it matches my home machine fairly well. Plus is you can get measurements taken regularly with less worry and get th3m s3nt to your phone with a record for your gp. Would be interesting for you to see it when he’s not stressed. Other thing that can help is just taking it lots of time anxiety goes eventually the more you do it. Bit like getting over a fear the more exposure you have. Home monitoring of some description would clearly be way forward and records taken to gp hugs x

Do you think your husband would give his consent for you and his doctor to have a conversation about what happened? I'm assuming his doctor knows (and understands) about his anxiety issues.

Lunch: LC cheesy bread and butter with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: coffee chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner: bacon and feta cheese fritatta with mixed veggies followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

He would and I have in the past. Plan A is to start home monitoring again, so we'll see how we get on with that first. He has major health anxiety issues, so if I can get some stats (as @shelley262 suggests) first, it would be a good start. @shelley262 We've discussed the fitness tracker in the past....he's worried he would over obsess about it!

19.18 pre dinner 5.2
Dinner: 55g wild rice,( thats a paltry 2 tbs) chicken, leek, celery and red pepper stir fry, Green beans, glass of wine. Really need to find a different way to add calories.

Might need some olives and cheese later to top up to target, but want to see how the rice affects BG first. If its ok might be able to have three tablespoons next time :0

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and concern about Mr B. We've agreed to start home monitoring again, so hopefully we can get more of a picture of what's going on.

When shopping last night I stumbled into a hotel chocolat and came home with a selection of flavoured dark chocolate delights. Know I can only eat one at a time but very excited at the prospect - never been in that shop before. I may well now be making monthly visits :D
It's a great place to stand and inhale

Well, I was thrown a slight curve ball for today. Mr B decided to have a funny turn and faint in the bathroom at 3.30am. It was scary for both of us and the poor lad didn't feel up to getting back to bed until 5.30. So, I just sat with on the bathroom floor until he felt well enough. :nurse: My alarm for work goes off at 6.15am! :bigtears: Thankfully, my boss is pretty understanding about these things. So, half a day of leave (to catch up on sleep) and half a day working from home. And poor Mr B feeling a bit sorry for himself. We're pretty sure this incident is BP related, as he has had the odd issue since starting on Ramipril back in June. Any sign of a repeat performance and he'll be packed off to the GP pronto.

Breakfast (very late): Strawberry & Lime Chia pudding. Coffee & cream
Mid morning: Almond milk cappuccino. Mr B had a pecan cookie.
Lunch: Mr B had grilled spiced chicken with fennel, avocado, cucumber and chilli salad with lime dressing. I wasn't that hungry, so I had a few nuts and a baby Bell.
Snacks: Mr B had a few nuts.
Dinner: Fathead pizza with thinly sliced asparagus, green olives prosciutto. Served with green salad. Cocoa with almond milk and cream.

The Fathead pizza was amazing and really hit the spot after all the stress of the early hours! Not quite sure how I managed to restrain myself and only had a quarter!
Was he well hydrated? I kept having this issue with my brother and BP tended to be low because he just wasn't getting enough water down him. It is scary though. My brother was 6 ft 4 ins - it was a long way to drop. Hope Mr B is improved.
