Like, @ianpspurs ..and agree.
it's like a mix of those games where you move pieces around a square to 'make' the picture puzzle
complete AND one of those games where you roll the ball around a maze filled with holes to drop into,
trying to avoid them so you can get to the end of the maze.
Just as one bit falls into place or you think your almost past the latest HOLE....Gotcha.......or so it seems.
I think i'm quite lucky, as in all my numbers since using the LCHF way have tumbled in the right direction
Cholesterol, Trigs, LDL, Chol/HDL ratio ..all trending down..HDL trending up...
I do however temper that knowledge that while all could be better, i AM heading in the right direction
AND, Like the rest of the Population IF we didn't have to pay such close attention TO those numbers,
we wouldn't be spotting trends OR worrying over them excessively.
It is after all results driven.
i suppose to use football vernacular, am i aiming to be the Champions or just happy being in the Premiership.
while it may be win at any costs for some, that doesn't translate for me,
like the man citys, liverpools, etc it take vast expenditure to maintain AND challenge for the top spot.
Time i think better invested in enjoying the fruits of ones current labours.
So i kick back, appreciate the efforts i HAVE made, the Improvements ongoing and try not to get too hung up on the minutiae of balancing everything within my bodies chemistry.
i think that would drive me insane.:***:
So if i improve my numbers to near normal levels, then i might rethink,
But i still believe that trying to balance the whole jumble of markers/chemicals /metabolic systems within us would be an impossible task,
Instead i take comfort in getting closer to the norms..
And as i reread my post, i wonder if we are slightly cursed with some sort of 'super Power'
as we get to do what few others do and that's PAY Close attention to what figures our bloods produce.
.and sometimes ..( imho ) i think it's possible to look too deeply.
and see the imperfections regardless of how good they are.
Have a good un, mate.
Come on you BLUES..()
Drive???? I learnt to drive in London, stay well away now.... DPD I've found to be the most effective , reasonably priced delivery co. Slightly more expensive than Royal Mail, but in my experience worth the slight extra cost.... and will keep cortisol levels hopefully lower.Morning...almost finished my paperwork just some invoices to do...posting late...ate late...got up late(r) seems to be a pattern there...decisions...shall I drive down to London and drop my paperwork off or do I rely on the vagaries of the Royal Mail...woke to a 6.1
5.0 this morning. Last night I went to an evening yoga class. I dont exactly know why but as I'm a newbe there I feel a little strange in a room full of woman and me. The class is tuff though .... this morning I'm feeling a little battered although at the time I really didn't think I was doing anything excessive.... anyhow have a good day all
Its a funny thing I can run for a bus, or to avoid getting hit by a car on a road. I'm quite keen on running around a tennis court, weather permitting, but I find the whole running thing , well bit boring I guess. The same with going to the gym. I am genuinely impressed by people who can do it regularly. I have tried it, many times at different places . So for me the discipline of going to a class at a set time I am really hoping will set me up because this body keeps telling me it can be in better shape despite what I now do..... But dont lets talk about the splits, just thinking about it makes me laugh...give it a year or two eh?Hi @OrsonKartt
well done getting into it, mate.
Missus is a big lover of yoga..and hits me with the details and i've seen her in action...full kudos for doing any of it.
way beyond what i could do at the moment (or ever..splits.? :***:
)
quite a few fellas in her classes, btw
But when she has shown me some simple moves, i've also ached the next day.
I feel it might be as men we prioritise certain muscle groups as being 'good' to stretch and /or develop..
and the ladies perhaps choose others..(it's all about our differing shapes and form i think )
so the ones being stretched now are probably under utilised.. by a man, imho.
think how easily the ladies turn in a dance routine to how stiff men (usually) are
ladies are much more flexible at start, for definite
similarly when i was doing some of the stretching exercises for running, the simpler ones, left the biggest impact, simple because i believe the muscles as explained above, weren't as used,
(exercise was for Hip Flexor muscles)
have a good day, too

I drove up to our office Saskia...paperwork done...invoices done...all delivered & at the right time the traffic isn't so bad.I would have stuck the papers in an envelope and put the envelope in the mail, then made myself another cup of coffee. I might have sent it registered or certified, requiring a signed receipt at the other end. So much easier -- let someone else do the driving!
OTOH, I love a good road trip ... and important papers to deliver would be a great excuse for one ...![]()
Good morning all. Blood sugars still a bit wonky from the cold. They went up to 7.1 half an hour after taking an ibuprofen yesterday -- up by 1 mmol. Does ibuprofen raise blood sugars? Have any of you experienced something similar?
Downward dog pretzels would probably spike my sugar level too, but the relaxation...ahhhhhhhhhhhWith yoga (as with any exercise routine) we have to start out slow and small and work through to more. I love Lilias' Yoga DVDs "Yoga for Seniors" because so much of it is seated! I need to bite the bullet and order the DVDs, since the little yoga that is on TV these days seems to be all about youngsters doing exercises for youngsters and I no longer have any desire (or ability!) to twist myself into a Downward Dog Pretzel to Greet the Sun With a Twist of Lemon. I just love the moving and feeling my body relax and move at the same time.
6.9 this morning -- had a small scone and a few sour-cream-and-onion potato chips with my moscato at Pub Trivia yesterday -- very very bad but very very delicious. Will re-check at bedtime tonight or tomorrow morning, may have to tweak the carbs some more.
My pharmacist told not to take Ibuprofen because it can raise blood glucose (I has asked if it was OK).
