What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hi everyone. I love reading your food ideas and always learn something. I have a bit of a funny tummy today so sticking with ginger tea and a slice or two of HiLo toast. Cooking chicken, chorizo and red pepper meal for OH this evening. He has a choice of different yogurts, berries and jelly for pudding. I bought some cod loin which I will oven cook with fresh pesto tomorrow evening.
I have been reading the thread about ice cream and wonder if any of you make it and what goes into it and also can you make small quantities for variety. TIA.

Good evening all.

@Chook amazing stamina on the fast.

Had to break mine at about the 41 hour mark as feeling very rough as well as ravenous, despite having woken up feeling like I could fast a lot longer. Have eaten a lot today.

Fast was broken with some M&S rollitos which I had in stock in the fridge at work.

Couple of hours later followed up with 2 fried eggs, 3 rashers bacon and some grated cheese at the cafe near work. Then half a dinky (thanks for that thought @ianpspurs ) Sainsbury’s 85% chocolate bar.

Dinner was a small tin of Waitrose wild Pacific salmon with mayonnaise followed by my whipped creamy cheese, cream and cocoa dessert.

My body seems to have finally stopped crying out for food so job done. Very early night in order now.

@zauberflote let me know how you get on with the brownies.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: ham with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: peanut phd bar and black coffee.
Dinner: coconut and lemongrass chicken and mushroom stir fry followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola

Good evening everyone. Another early start for me and a 2 hour drive over to near Doncaster and back for work. A busy day with not much time between meetings, so I decided it was the perfect opportunity for OMAD. Mr B joined me for the first time in OMAD, with the exception of cream in his coffee to take his meds (Metformin). He managed fine and thankfully no ill effects on his digestion.

Breakfast: Coffee with a splash of cream
Plenty hot drinks (black coffee, herbal tea) throughout the day. I didn't drink nearly enough water.
Dinner: Chicken stuffed with cream cheese and pesto wrapped in prosciutto, tenderstem broccoli, roasted baby leeks, 'parmentier' celeriac and garlic mushrooms. 1 square of 80% Waitrose choc and a cocoa with almond milk and cream. Decaf coffee will follow later.

Evenin’ All,

Haven’t posted for a few days, mainly because food has been v samey.

Mon:
No B
L: cheese
D: huge burger, a few disappointing fries, no bun or greenery nonsense

Tue:
No B
L: prawns in wasabi mayo
D: liked the burger yesterday so much, I made homemade burglars. Which were 20% fat with garlic, onion and garlic pickle mixed in, and were therefore MUCH nicer than Gastropub burger the night before. With cheese on top.
Then a dollop of goatsmilk yog with cream and cocoa as pud.

Today:
Enjoyed yesterday sooooo much, I did an exact repeat, except i swapped the wasabi for brinjal pickle.
Don’t yet know if I will need the yog.

:D I LOVE eating carnivore.

Evening all - after an insane day at work I passed on the swimming tonight so have eaten at a normal hour

Breakfast - DD bacon & mushroom casserole as only ate half of my portion I’d cooked last night
No lunch
Dinner - tikka sliced chicken breast with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, spinach and mayo followed by 2 squares of green & blacks raspberry & hazelnut dark chocolate with coffee

Day before the fast so I decided to treat myself.

Brekkers: Customary coffee with double cream
Lunch: Leftover homemade Piri Piri chicken with homemade cheese sauce, pickles and kalamata olives
Snack on the way home of a Peperami
Dinner: Marbled sirloin steak with garlic mushrooms, homemade cauli and cheese and fried cabbage with garlic butter

You have taken to this like a duck to water :D

Very efficent morning, all appointments on time right up until last one at 12pm. They were over 4 hours late, had to stay home waiting for them, messed up my plans for walk to town. Now sitting in semi-gloom as didnt get to buy new lightbulb. ofc all things like that are gone to the house in France.
Food? Do I have to confess all? Lets just say there was too much of it, including a small amount of chocolate.
Yesterdays low carb pancakes were resurrected and more successful as a cheese omelette. Getting brave with cheese, used a whole 50g this time. Now have two different pancake recipes to try out. Thanks guys

Dinner last night: Steak and veggies, spudlites.
Breakfast: Cheese and mushroom omelette, bacon and a leftover reheated spudlite .
Lunch: It will have cold boiled eggs with it for sure, possibly curried with HB low carb bread.

Groceries etc. ordered online, for the 10:00 to 13:00 home delivery window tomorrow

Firstly, is your dd doing better? Secondly, welcome! I think you did the only thing possible under those circumstances!
I am thinking of packing a “go bag” for when my 91-yr-old mom with dementia winds up in the ER, as she did a few weeks ago. Mr ZF went home and brought me good foods, slippers, and a fuzzy sweater, as I was dressed for playing a concert! So my emergency food would include cheese and almonds for starters. Haven’t gotten any further.
I’m going to tag @BibaBee to come say hey. She is playing the same supportive role you and dd are.

I love York! My nephews loved Jorvik and the Railway Museum when we took them a few years ago! I think I'd find a visit to York difficult without a visit to Betty's Tearoom though. We had a champagne afternoon tea there for my birthday a few years ago. I suspect there wouldn't be much in the way of LC offerings there though!
There isn't I'm afraid plus afternoon tea with little people wouldn't work (although they'd eat all the macarons.

Daughter is still in hospital. It’s pneumonia but she’s feeling better thank you.
I do often pack an emergency picnic but there was just no time to do this as her temperature was soaring.
We managed to eat better today.
Yogurt and berries for breakfast.
Paprika chicken and roasted vegetable rice from Waitrose for lunch. Not ideal I know, but better than sandwiches on a busy day (I had hospital appointment myself)
Dinner was a quick prawn mayo salad.
On the whole not too bad.
Done a lot of sitting around since Monday waiting for xrays etc so need to address lack of exercise. Ironic how going to hospital can be so unhealthy!!

No kidding re unhealthy hospital. Yuk.

Bed 6.1 FBG 6.7. Back to getting DP surges right when I get my 'invite' for review. Well, I've added to the Easter activities. Schedule is now 9 April - Dynamic Earth (browbeaten SIL into going with me to rest Hubby. 11/12 April - York complete with hunt the cats and the red devil as well as the many advance bookings. Told them the story of the red devil today and No 2 was a bit concerned it could "get him". 8 & 15 April I have gym & aqua. 17 April is Matilda with the RSC. 19 April is a breakfast and craft session with the Easter Bunny. Somewhere in all this I have to fit in a swimming day with the boys.
Despite This I'm still down in the dumps. Have to drag No 1 through this schedule change again tomorrow and I don't get how they can't see it's making him worse - very anxious and that's the last thing I need with the first of the dental appointments with sedation starting. Had a chat with him today to see if I could get to the root of what is causing it but by being silly - such as "when I leave what do You think will happen? What scares you? Is you not being there going to make my head inflate and explode?" A whole series of questions like this got the little cogs turning and even he is now questioning what is the worst that can happen. He's agreed to give it a go tomorrow again so we'll see. I suspect this is what is getting me down.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Pulled one of my green soups out of the freezer - spinach & broccoli in a chicken stock base.
D. Bit cod loin in the sesame crumb, veggie chips and DD curried tartare sauce. Raspberries and blueberries with a dash of cream.
Ah well let's see what tomorrow is like.

Awww @maglil55 schools. BTDT. Your tactic of “silly” is brilliant! Glad he’s able to get the cogs turning; that can help him alot. My #2 just stormed out of my house because he’s so stressed about xyz and at nearly 29 has never EVER listened to anyone who told him he really Has To Learn stress management. Sigh. Lectures, sermons, pleas, neutral professionals, but no grannies- he never had stress when around either one...

Bfast 1/2 avocado, 2 cherry tomatoes at one carb (had to find the product info, then count! the tomatoes to arrive at this lolol), egg, decaf/soy/cream.
Lunch: Mom won’t eat unless I do so, celery, toms, tuna salad sandwich burrito on lc tortilla.
Opera. It was ROFL hilarious; great acting all over the stage.
Supper 2 cherry toms, wilted spinach with hm dressing, some blue cheese, another tortilla to get my face out of the cheese.
Felt very rocky this morning. BP low and dizzy/weak with it, BGs well up, wondrous internet says maybe dehydration, so I drink tons of water. Haven’t beed able to test, and just finished supper so will wait a while.

Today I had 2 meals in a 7hr window.

First, 1/2 a flatiron steak (110gm) with 1/4 avocado, 2 poached eggs, asparagus and wilted spinach.

7hr later 4 Naked chipolatas with broc and cauli cheese, then sf jelly.
I had to google flatiron steak and naked chipolatas, I know what chipolatas are but not naked ones.

Flatiron steak is known as oyster blade steak here when it is boneless, or y bone when it has the bone in. I like both, as I am a big fan of forequarter meat.

The butcher shops I worked in did not sell chipolatas, just thin bbq sausages, or thick pork or beef ones. The closest we got to the size of chipo's were when we made saveloys as they were about the same size and dipped in red food colouring.

The sav's were know locally in Mount Isa as "little boys" which caused a lot of merriment with the local aboriginal ladies.

Here's a pix of y bone steak.
