What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Oh and meant to post this. Made me laugh in Ikea - butter flavoured rape seed oil!! Still it’s organic, must be good for you :blackeye:Give me the butter!

Editing to tag @bulkbiker - sure he’d love some of this.

Bed 7.7 FBG 6.8 yes 50g of Montezuma black forest is not a good idea - that was it on descent. I'm still "cant be bothered". No 1 really wasnt happy this morning as school changed his early schedule again and it's made me uncomfortable all day. The idea is to make him less anxious not put his anxiety through the roof. Been trying to distract myself planning (and booking) Easter trips for them (although there's a limit to how much I can inflict on other half
So far we're off to York in the first week and I've booked Jorvik, York Chocolate Story and the hop on/off. Suspect we'll also take in the Railway Museum and the Harry Potter shops in the Shambles. I've briefed them on the cats and the red devil and will be putting together "train bingo" sheets for them. I'm determined they will be technology free. Got a fair bit planning still to do. We're also going to Matilda the week after. I'm debating breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Dobbies (cant see Hubby going for that one!).
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream
L. Spoonful each of M&S tuna with red onion and beans, Honduran prawns, 2 lamb koftas and egg mayonnaise.
D. Made the low carb souffle pancakes and had with blueberries/raspberries and monk fruit maple syrup. My Fitness Pal hates me today. Stayed well clear of Montezuma until BGs settle again.

XBX 16, feeling like its time to move up, but resisting temptation for my shoulders sake
breakfast, 2 keto pancakes berries and yoghurt, Cant say pancakes were a great success, more like omelette, AGAIN.
Lunch: smoked mackeral with salad, coleslaw, and a small piece of bread, in case the Doctor asked what I was eating :shifty:
Saw the Doctor, now have appt for blood test in the morning, (checking my thyroid) but also xrays after that.
Been googling (Probably a bad idea - but we all do it) Weight Loss and Shoulder Pain, in combination they come up with some scary things. Could use Mr Slim here now.
Dinner: One pan rice dish, precooked basmati and wild rice, leeks, green beans, mushrooms, chicken pieces, peas and a handful of sweetcorn for colour. All fried up in coconut oil and butter, with sprinkling of curry powder and a splash of soy sauce. Glass of white wine. Chardonnay, from the Adelaide Hills winery, a nod to my friend who lives there.
This is why i need an ap that calculates nutritional values for me.
Hope the BG is good, have enough for tomorrow as well. Set a timer to remind me.

edited for typo - my friend lives there now

I'm sure everyone is sick to death of hearing about pancakes but I did manage some made with coconut flour, after a fashion!

They're delicate little creatures and I had to make them small or they wouldn't flip, they just folded up in a pile. Slightly bready in texture but acceptable. Drenched mine in lemon juice and a sprinkle of erythritol/stevia sweetener. Recipe here (link may not work) http://bit.ly/2KqSAFiView attachment 31659
I'm not sick of hearing about them! It is only one day a year after all! We had savoury 'crepes' with emmental cheese and Serrano ham. The batter was made from cream cheese, egg and psyllium husk (https://sugarfreelondoner.com/3-ingredient-low-carb-crepes/). The result was somewhere between a savoury galette and a thin omelette. Not bad, but not blown away. Then we had almond American style pancakes. I made this recipe (https://sugarfreelondoner.com/almond-cream-cheese-pancakes/), but decided the batter was too thin and needed some raising agent. Perfect with the addition of 1 tablespoon of coconut flour, a sprinkle (a tsp?) of psyllium husk and half a tsp baking powder. Lovely served with lemon curd, blueberries and cream. Not sure how the leftovers will fare in the freezer, as we're both planning to fast tomorrow.

It’s not a typo I can assure you! The Oppo brothers are making a donation to breast cancer awareness for every tub sold.
OK we will seek some out as this family is very aware of breast cancer. May need to roam around to find Oppo stockists though - local Waitrose doesn't ever seem to have any

@DJC3 and @ianpspurs hope very restricted time eating /Omad has good results - think it’s fairly new method for you @DJC3
I’m still on my 3 small meals as hungry but think it’s starting to settle! Bgs fairly stable though thankfully
Breakfast scrambled eggs with coffee (last attempt at getting used to almond milk but just couldn’t do justdont like taste ended up with replacement mug with some cream!) think trying to swerve the cream hasn’t helped my hunger!
.

Yes it’s a new scheme for me - I’m so indecisive I never really know each day how I’ll tackle it. Today was supposed to be omad but I didn’t think pancakes would be enough for my one meal so caved in an hour or so earlier with the salad.
I agree about the coffee and almond milk - just doesn’t seem to go. However I do like it in tea, couldn’t drink tea with cream.

And in the process making absolutely sure I for one Never Forget their name lololol!!!!

Oh copyright for sure! But you know, if one of us has made significant adjustments to the method, we would want to know that. We already see any ingredient changes. Some of my changes were simply editing out the breathless Chatty Cathy part, but some of them would result in a better product. Live and learn, eh?

Just out of interest what do you see if you look at my recipes called ‘low carb caramel from maglil55’ and ‘Cream Cheese Brownies’ both of which I typed in, (copying recipes from this thread) so there is no website origin, can you see the whole thing there?

I don’t get the ‘Chatty Cathy’ ( great phrase, by the way) bits when I’ve Copied me that - one of the reasons I like it is that it cuts all that waffle out.

I’m worn out just looking at the activities you’ve planned. I love York too though.

I only like almond milk in a cappuccino, but that also needs a splash of cream for it to work! If it's a cafetière or americano it has to be cream all the way or just black for me.

I love York! My nephews loved Jorvik and the Railway Museum when we took them a few years ago! I think I'd find a visit to York difficult without a visit to Betty's Tearoom though. We had a champagne afternoon tea there for my birthday a few years ago. I suspect there wouldn't be much in the way of LC offerings there though!

Oh, and while we're on the subject of almond milk, watch out for the cheaper ones, as they often have maltodextrin added. Alpro doesn't, but I realised to my cost the other day that the Aldi version does.

Hmmmm. The caramel appears to have survived with your directions intact. The cream cheese brownies, if goonergal’s (not tagging you, girl, it’s just not fair lol) send me to whatever website, but when I try, I get a Server Error 404....
Chatty Cathy persists even in the recipes. “Beat egg whites until they form stiff peaks” doesn’t require (for me) an essay in two parts. It’s what author meant, but not at all what she said. Maybe because she’s never heard the phrase, who knows. But yes, getting rid of the actual blog post eager-puppy-ness is a good thing!

Well...., I thought about either a grilled cheese sandwich or something even pancake-ier for my whole starving walk, but by the time I’d finished feeding the cats, there wasn’t time. Would have liked to have joined the camaraderie!
Bfast 1/2 avocado, egg, hemp seed hearts, decaf/soy(not almond cos it gives me gas)/cream, 2 spoons crème frâiche which is way butterier today than it was yesterday. Too big a bfast; bg didn’t behave.
Lunch only 2 cans Dr Pepper seltzer bcI meant to have a decaf. Never did.
Supper celery, wilted spinach with a dab of basil pesto we have to eat, handful almonds, a lc tortilla, and I think a spoon or two of crème frâiche because somebody has to eat it.
Grocery shopped, went to Costco on spur of moment bc I really wanted their colorful cherry tomatoes, $95 later I walked out with a 2 lb brick of Vermont Cabot 3-yr cheddar (edited to add that), a dress shirt and two pair cargo shorts for Mr ZF, and a pair of capri’s for me which will go back. Tight in the calf and falling off me at the waist. Argh. There is No Way I will be a size 6! Then the fix-it guy came from the rental management. Cleaned out dryer vent, fixed an overhead light which had eaten the base of the blown bulb, and called a real electrician for the lack of power to the outlet in the shed. His tester said that the ground (you say “earth”?) and hot wires were reversed. It’s worked since we moved in almost 5 yrs ago, but failed suddenly! Then a shorter walk; too late for longer. Next is allergy shot and switch out laundry loads. Whew!
Opera move theater re-broadcast tomorrow with Mom! Daughter of the Regiment, Donizetti. I heard part of the live radio broadcast Saturday, and it will have us ROFLing!
