What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Glad the ox cheek turned out well, how long did you cook it in the end?
I’m finding facebook marketplace is better than ebay for selling stuff now, Especially if postage will be high as you just join local groups in fb so buyers can collect.
Must be a record Ilea dash!

Took the ox cheek out just short of 11 hours on the low setting.

Interesting about Facebook marketplace. Was thinking about that as a lot of my stuff needs to be collected anyway as too heavy/large to post. Will look into that

@Chook sick of the cold, wet and windy weather as well.
@shelley262 Have seen those flood barriers, very effective and impressive. No longer live there, but consider Worcester my home city.
@Listlad have been trying to buy almond flour, perhaps this is what you needed for your Notella. Glad your daughter liked it.
@BibaBee Hope his eyes improve soon. Which river are you near? Love your tip for the LC Notella
@maglil55 you are a positive saint to make all thse different things on demand.
@PenguinMum used to make refridgerator cookies, the dough would keep for a couple of weeks in the fridge.
@BibaBee your rhubarb fool sounds wonderful.
To you all: thanks for putting up with me.

Pleased for you that your son is recovering and your mum too plus having Mr slim back will I’m sure improve things for you - sounds like a tough time for you. Boredom and stress and anxiety have a big impact both on food choices and bgs.
Flood barriers put up one side yesterday and other side of Bewdley today - bridge had to be closed while work done. River Severn - as you will know if you lived in Worcester, floods badly but takes time so at least can prepare - usually floods Worcester a day or so after Bewdley so no doubt barriers will be going up there soon. Our peak is due on Tuesday. Nipped down when finished work for today and it’s impressive in full flow swirling, deep brown and carrying whole trees in its path as it heads downstream.

Better day today
breakfast, 2x granola, (no grain is nearly all gone now, will be trying a different recipe soon.) with milk and cream.
Lunch; salad, hummous on little gem leaves, ham with mustard rolled up, olives , almonds and a decadent coffee cream dessert MrSlim brought home from France. Got in a pickle working out the cals and carbs as it was 125g pot with details for 100g.
Dinner: two egg omelette with mushroom, bacon and cheese, had about six oven chips, spoonful of peas, and portion of spinach.
MrSlim had another dessert, vanilla this time, I had extra half glass of wine instead.

Those whole trees sometimes endanger the bridge, have known it be closed because it was shifting.

Not a good morning foodwise.:bored::depressed::greedy: just couldn't stop eating. Breakfast, yoghurt and berries, second breakfast: raspberries and coffee. snack, whole packet of dark chocolate florentines (6) snack: 2x granola with milk and cream, almonds. stopped eating at this point. several glasses of water, few cups of tea, then on to wine
My self destructive streak taking over? Just bored? Lonely? Howling winds and rain, sick of being stuck indoors?

update
There is good news as well.
Mum is allowed to leave her sling off for part of the day now. And had a visit from my son and partner last night.
He looks a bit tired, but it was his first real day out, since he was taken ill. He still has pain from one lung which is inflamed, but recovering nicely and expecting to start his new job on monday as planned.
Mr Slim will be home tomorrow:happy::joyful:
and we have a potential competion date - in about two weeks, with an alternative for three weeks.
You have been trying to buy almond flour? I bought mine from a local Asian store that seems to stock all manner of stuff like that.

Thank you. It's the River Sett in Derbyshire ....we've lived here nearly 15 years and been lucky so far, but a few near misses. The rhubarb fool was ridiculously easy to make...definitely worth a go!

Probably going to keep it to dinner time, usually too busy for lunch with the website admin at work so just going to skip it from now on and probably use the time to take a walk around the city. Thank you for the well wishes there too!

Caesji, as I understand it, you're living at home with family. Bearing in mind your dietary changes, are you all eating together, or are you doing your own thing?

(How's the job going? Are you enjoying being back in the world of work?)

That IP went for £58 in the end. Somebody got a real bargain there!

As for IKEA? If MrB comes with me, I come out with whiplash and a touch of PTSD, due to the speed we go round the place. Although he actually suggested going last time, and was very good as we trundled round, but part of that was because we were wasting time, waiting to pick up a car from the garage, where it had been having a couple of paint chips repaired.

Hello all,

Definitely some delicious foods posted today. I am drooling @Goonergal thinking about the ox cheeks and @BibaBee thinking about the rhubarb fool.

@shelley262 and @BibaBee -- Hope the floods don't affect you and you're keeping dry.

@DCUKMod -- Still haven't tried the carob gum, thinking about attempting some chocolate pudding. Thanks for having a look at Wikipedia.

Today ...

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol.

Lunch: Nothing.

Dinner: A serving of keto Pad Thai, a glass of red wine.

Late night snack: Some chicken liver pate and some Greek yoghurt with stewed rhubarb.

Aww @PenguinMum how frustrating! And re cookie dough- you can leave it in there til July if it’s wrapped completely airtight. I freeze buttery Christmas cookie dough at any stage, thaw to correct temp and bake. Just as good. Caveat none of these are lc.
@ianpspurs that magnesium thing is a bear. I’ve been taking a special supplement for decades, and my level seems to be fine but my primary care wants it higher evidently bc he told me to drink Gatorade... not gonna happen!
Hugs @SlimLizzy ! Glad son is recovered enough to want to get out. I am not “putting up with you”! I am enjoying your company!!!
I’m sorry @dunelm without punctuating your post in my head I imagined you re-using your courgette by spiraling it. :hilarious:
Bfast 1/2 avocado, mmmm I have missed that!, egg, decaf/cream to melt 90% choc in my mouth
Lunch rich redolent salty chicken stock and seltzer water
Was doing really well not eating bc not hungry (seem to have overeaten the past few days and my tummy has grown smaller?????) UNTIL.... we had cousins to tea and the major offering was brie cheese. (Choc chip cookies held zero appeal! Amazed me yet again) I stayed off the cheese until after our guests had left, but then we had to go downstairs to watch the tv do nothing (finally dx to, no internet connection <eyeroll>). There were drinks for those who wanted, and there was that cheese again! So I started supper half an hour early. Cheeses, swordfish, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, a sq 90% chocolate.
The other night when there were so many photos being posted, I didn’t want to step on them by posting my brilliant idea which turned out to hts even better than I could have imagined. I’d made a pan of my brown bread, and bethought me of a grilled cheese sandwich. Behold the result!

Also, a 5x zoom of our vista yesterday. It had tapered off from a gale warning, but small craft advisory was still in effect. Seas at 3 feet. IMG_7823.jpg

Yep! We usually eat together hence why I am really only going to be OMAD at work so I can avoid my Gran worrying that I am starving myself. She understands but sometimes flips into grandparent mode.

Speaking of which it’s been challenging but great, working for a small scale football club doing design and web work is a thousand times more rewarding than my original one dealing with corporate stuff! Thanks for asking!

Being properly engaged at work, as opposed to turning up and taking the money, is so important to mental wellbeing, in my view. I'm really please so many facets of your life are pointing in such positive directions at the moment.

Long may that continue.
