What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I’ve got this evening’s chicken carcass in my Instant Pot right now, with assorted random bits of veg and peelings. It’s had a couple of hours and I’ll leave it to cool and become flavourful overnight.

I saw a Hugh fernley whittingstall thing where he freezes bones and carcasses until he has enough for a huge pot to make bone broth

5.7 today, not too bad. Body getting back to normal after jolies.

Manic here. I am on a tight schedule. Today I have a full bathroom to clean. A doddle I hear you say! But its recently been fitted and tiled from top to bottom....floor included. They all need cleaning thoroughly, tile grout n dusty etc. Have to get it done today as someone hot on my tail to get more work done. I can hear my mum saying 'elbow grease, that's what you need'. I have never found it on sale in any shop so just resorting to hot soapy water and a nice cloth. If anyone has actually found elbow grease for sale please let me know.;-) Asap!!! Its hard work!!!

Have a great day everyone.

@gennepher glad your drains got fixed yesterday and good luck today. That sounds like an amazing procedure and I really can’t imagine what it must be like for you. How on earth can you even begin to make sense of the sounds you’re hearing if you’ve never heard anything before? It’s mind boggling. Keeping everything crossed that your brain will be able to work it all out.

I can honestly say I love the very dark bitter chocolate - I’m amazed to be quite honest as I never thought that’d happen. It gives such an intense cocoa hit. I even like the Callebaut buttons which are not smooth enough for some.
I think that is the point @DJC3 - be honest about up with what you can put. Both of us have had long enough to work that out and have taken enough readings to know some LC foods/recipes just aren't worth the faff - they neither please nor keep bg low.

I understand, Debandez. We had our walls and ceilings re- plastered and there was more plaster on the floor than anywhere else!:arghh: Don't do too much at once.:)

I've no idea, DJC3. Something to be avoided in my opinion! ( Especially if, like me, you suffer from IBS and Diverticulitis). LOL :)
You have my sympathy for those conditions. Julie has those and often, as last night, just can't sleep because of the discomfort - gave up at 2.00 am. She also would find LC impossible - how do you manage?

9.1 this morning at 7 am

The drain repair people came finally yesterday at 8 am. They were a good crew, full of energy, laughs, and jokes. Worked like trojans. Weather was good for them. They stayed late to make a 2 day job into one day for me, so finished at 6pm. They were brilliant.

Am in a rush this morning. Writing this while waking up with coffee. I have all day hospital appointment. I have cochlear implant from a few years ago. I had no hearing before then. So in my late 60’s I am learning to hear for first time. (Hospital has not implanted an elderly adult profoundly deaf from birth before so I am an experiment). Brain is not happy with this new input of sound it has never had before I don’t hear full words like hearing people. I just hear bits of sounds which my brain is still trying to work out, and it leaves me demented trying to work it out some days.

I was offered a cochlear speech processor upgrade. And I am getting that today, and I am being reprogrammed as well. Last time they reprogrammed me it didn’t go well, my brain was not happy with the new sound range. Long story.

Got to move.
Breakfast is eggs on the run...and cheese...

Haven’t time to read through your posts. Will check out your posts tonight if Brain is functioning.

Take care x
>^..^<

I hope this is going well for you. I have an 80yo friend who has worn a cochlear implant as long I have known her (6 years) and I don't know how long before. Nor do I know if she has been deaf since birth or not. It is an amazing device.

Thanks for the sympathy ianpspurs but I don't do too badly really. Just avoid anything with seeds which makes finding low carb bread difficult and fruit is limited as most low carb fruits like berries are to be avoided. I get most of my vitamins from above ground vegetables which fortunately I enjoy. Unfortunately I can't avoid the stress factor which can be and often is a trigger. Antibiotics are available on prescription for proper diverticulitis attacks and I find Buscopan helps with the IBS. ( I'm sure other remedies are available). Sympathy and best wishes to Julie.:)

Afternoon all. 5.1 this morning after yesterdays all time low. I'm putting it down to the sausage meat I put in last nights meat loaf. Next time I'll try minced pork, mixed withy the minced beef and see if has the same effect and taste.
